Today's Hurdle hints and answers for October 24, 2026 - Mashable
If you like playing daily word games like Wordle, then Hurdle is a great game to add to your routine. There are five rounds to the game. The first round sees you trying to guess the word, with correct, misplaced, and incorrect letters shown in each guess. If you guess the correct answer, it'll take you to the next hurdle, providing the answer to the last hurdle as your first guess. This can give you several clues or none, depending on the words. For the final hurdle, every correct answer from previous hurdles is shown, with correct and misplaced letters clearly shown. An important note is that the number of times a letter is highlighted from previous guesses does necessarily indicate the number of times that letter appears in the final hurdle. Temporal Stability of Repeated Self-Reported vs Device-Measured Behavior: Observational Study Using Ecological Momentary Assessment - Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR)
Background: A central concern in ecological momentary assessment (EMA) research is whether repeated self-report alters the reporting process itself. In most EMA domains, longitudinal stability of reporting is assumed but rarely tested. Objective: This study leveraged concurrent accelerometry as a temporal anchor to evaluate (1) whether self-reported physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior (SB) exhibited temporal shifts across a 7-day monitoring period and (2) whether this temporal shift differed across near-momentary (5-min reporting period) and coverage-based (120-min recall period) EMA protocols. Methods: We conducted a secondary analysis of 315 US adults recruited from the Understanding America Study panel between January and July 2023 for the current study. Participants were monitored in their natural environments for 7 days via 2 measurement methods: continuous thigh-worn activPAL4 accelerometry and 5 daily smartphone EMA prompts assessing PA and SB. Reporting reactivity was defined as divergence in the temporal trajectories of EMA-reported behavior relative to accelerometry. Multilevel models with random intercepts and slopes tested whether linear and quadratic study da

EEG monitoring offers new way to detect cybersickness - News-Medical
For years, developers of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies have worked to address an unwanted side effect many users experience: cybersickness, a type of motion sickness triggered by moving digital content. In a new study published on September 25, 2026, in the journal Virtual Reality, University of Maryland scientists used electroencephalography (EEG) to identify changes in brain wave activity while participants viewed virtual content designed to induce cybersickness. The findings offer real-time signals that could help designers detect and reduce cybersickness symptoms as they occur.

Apple's iPhone Duo faces overheating complaints as reviews reveal mixed results - Báo VietNamNet
Apple's iPhone Duo is attracting attention not only for its foldable design but also for concerns about how effectively the device manages heat during everyday use. Early reviews suggest that the smartphone can become noticeably warm during FaceTime calls, photography, gaming and other demanding activities. However, reviewers remain divided over whether the higher temperatures represent a significant performance problem or an acceptable compromise for an ultra-thin foldable device. Thermal management has emerged as a recurring topic in reviews published ahead of the iPhone Duo's October 23 retail launch.

Uh-oh: iPhone Duo displays are reportedly cracking along the hinge on launch day - Mashable
While the iPhone Duo has been mostly showered with praise on its launch day, there has been some criticism of the device. Reviewers aren't fans of the FaceTime camera's output quality, many apps have not yet been optimized for Apple's first foldable device, and there's a new report showing that the inner display's crease at the hinge becomes more visible as users fold and unfold the device over time. However, just hours after the iPhone Duo was released, some users are going home to find what appears to be a major defect that makes those previous critiques pale in comparison. The inner display of the iPhone Duo is cracking from top to bottom along the entire hinge — right where the device folds — for some very unlucky first-day iPhone Duo users.
