I ranked Canada's biggest coffee chains from worst to best — and my #1 might be controversial - Narcity

I don't think I've ever met a Canadian who doesn't have a strangely intense opinion about coffee chains. Some people will defend their Tim Hortons order with their lives. Others would rather go caffeine-free than drink anything that isn't Starbucks. And then there are the people who will tell you McDonald's secretly has the old Tim Hortons coffee recipe, which I'm 99% sure is an urban legend. Personally, I don't drink enough coffee to be loyal to one chain (yes, that was intended as a flex on the rest of you coffee drones). I go to all of them for different reasons, and what I want depends entirely on the day. Sometimes I want a $2 coffee handed to me through a drive-thru window. Sometimes I want an iced latte and a breakfast sandwich. So, to make this ranking somewhat fair, I'm judging four of Canada's most recognizable fast-food spots that sell coffee. I'm basing this on coffee and drink quality, food, value, menu variety, convenience and the overall ambiance. And yes, price matters. A lot. Especially in this economy. Because if one place can give me a perfectly good coffee for less than $3 and another wants nearly $6 for my drink, I'm taking that into consideration.
