Week 7 Fantasy Waiver Wire: Target Germie Bernard, C.J. Stroud - Sports Illustrated

As Vince Lombardi once said, “What the hell's going on out here?”The Week 6 slate was drunk, both in real and fantasy football. The Browns beat the Ravens and are in first place in the AFC North (that's not a misprint). The supposedly high-powered Rams offense was held to just 16 points … by the Cardinals! And Puka Nacua was held to just 80 yards. Oh, and the Cardinals won the game, leaving the Rams at 2-4! In fantasy, Patrick Mahomes was a dud against the winless Chargers. Bijan Robinson was held to just 7.3 points in a loss to the Bears. That’s his lowest point total as a pro in a game where he saw more than 13 touches. Bam Knight and Jawhar Jordan scored more points at running back than Jaylen Warren. Oh, and A. J. Brown had butterfingers, finishing with just 5.7 points in his return to action. It wasn’t all bad, however, as several players did enough to warrant being added in most fantasy leagues ahead of Week 7. One of those players, however, is not Travis Hunter. While he did have four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown against the Texans, the talented cornerback played just nine snaps on offense... and the Jaguars also have a bye next on the schedule.

NEWARK, N. J. (AP) Declan Chisholm scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second period and Jake Allen made 31 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-3 on Tuesday night. Chisholm scored his first goal for the Devils at 12:33 on a power play, putting New Jersey in front to stay after the teams traded goals in the first. Luke Evangelista, Arseny Gritsyuk and Jesper Boqvist also scored for the Devils, who recovered from a 4-2 loss at Washington in their previous game. The 34-year-old Allen, honored before puck drop for playing his 500th career game earlier this month, improved to 4-2-0. Gabriel Landeskog scored and Artturi Lehkonen added two late goals for the Avalanche, who lost for the third time in four games. Colorado was beaten 3-2 at Philadelphia on Monday. Maple Leafs’ McCabe exits game with injury vs. Blue Jackets - TSN

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe exited Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an injury and did not return, the team confirmed. McCabe left the game midway through the first period after he was high-sticked by Blue Kent Johnson. Johnson’s stick made contact with the left-side of McCabe’s face and around the eye area. The 33-year-old defenceman lay on the ice for significant length of time before going to the bench with the assistance of the Maple Leafs’ medical staff. Johnson received a double-minor for high-sticking for the play with the game tied 1-1 but the Maple Leafs failed to score on the power-play. Toronto would go on to beat the Blue Jackets 6-2. Following the game, Leafs head coach Jim Hiller told the media McCabe was left out as a precaution. “I bumped into him, seems to be doing OK,” said Hiller. McCabe’s injury adds pressure to an already weakened Maple Leafs blueline that is already missing Chris Tanev. Tanev is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury. The 6-foot-1, left-shot blueliner has yet to record a point this season with the Maple Leafs and has a minus-1 rating while averaging 20:10 of icetime this season.
