Breakfast at Home, After Birth at Home - Bon Appétit: Recipes, Cooking, Entertaining, Restaurants | Bon Appétit
In The Fourth Trimester, we ask parents: What meal nourished you after welcoming your baby? This month it’s a soothing porridge from Eating at Home author Trinity Mouzon Wofford. Our first daughter, Ruby Natsuko, arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in late July. Her name is Japanese for Summer Child. She was born at home, caught by my midwife and warmly welcomed by her newly minted father and grandmother, who were there alongside me. I hadn’t intended a homebirth when I received the welcome surprise of a positive pregnancy test. I have always considered myself risk-averse, pain-intolerant, and skeeved out by the sort of spiritual mumbo-jumbo that seemed to accompany an unmedicated birth. I dutifully signed on with a traditional OB practice, but halfway through my pregnancy, I’d reached a breaking point. The practice had misread a test result of mine on the assumption I was Caucasian, leading to a flag that the baby might have a fatal birth defect. During the week between that phone call and my scheduled Level II ultrasound, I repeatedly cursed myself for being so nonchalant with my prenatal vitamins.

Helen Chesnut's Garden Notes: Rhodo can be moved now or in early spring - Times Colonist
Or leave it where it is and propagate a new plant to place it in the new location. Dear Helen: I have a 20-year-old rhododendron that blooms every year, but it’s in an area of the garden not often seen. This year I rebuilt the garden beds at the front and would like to transplant the rhododendron there, where it would get better light and would also be better appreciated. Is this possible? Is autumn a good time to move a rhododendron? Or should I just leave the old shrub alone?

Google SynthID Detector Simplifies Watermark Detection and Expands Support to Other AI Providers - infoq.com
Google DeepMind announced the global availability of SynthID Detector, a tool designed to help identify AI-generated content, including media created using AI tools from SynthID partners such as OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Kakao, with Apple support expected soon. Before the introduction of SynthID Detector, users could identify content AI-generated only by asking Gemini, which was limited to content generated by Google AI. Identifying content from other AI providers required instead using their respective detection tools.
