NFL Suspends Official, Referee For Unprofessional Conduct - FOX Sports
The NFL has suspended line judge Jeff Seeman two games for swearing at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during the team’s loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Seeman was caught on camera cursing at McBride, which drew the ire of union leader JC Tretter, a retired offensive lineman who played eight seasons. "This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable," Tretter, the NFL Players Association’s executive director, said on social media along with a video clip of the incident. "Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard. "NFL Related StoriesThe interaction took place with just under five minutes left after officials did not call a pass interference or illegal contact penalty on New York’s Dru Phillips, who made contact with McBride before the ball arrived from Jacoby Brissett on a third-and-2 play. Arizona punted and the Giants went on to win 36-24 after Deonte Banks intercepted Brissett's pass and ran it back for a pick-6 as time expired. Referee Adrian Hill was also suspended for unprofessional conduct in the Miami-Minnesota game. Reporting by The Associated Press.

England coach should be English, suggests Fleming - BBC
New Zealander Stephen Fleming, England's new Test coach, has suggested the national team should be led by someone from England. Fleming, who will take charge of his first series in South Africa in December, is the latest overseas coach to lead the England men's team. Since 1999, only two Englishmen - Peter Moores (twice) and Chris Silverwood - have been in charge of the Test side, while Ashley Giles had a spell as white-ball coach. In the same time period England have been led by two Zimbabweans, in Duncan Fletcher and Andy Flower, and Australian Trevor Bayliss - while Fleming has succeeded his fellow Kiwi Brendon McCullum, who remains white-ball coach. Another Australian, Matthew Mott, also had time in charge of the white-ball team. Fleming's backroom team, announced last week, is heavily weighted towards homegrown coaches. Former England opener Marcus Trescothick, who was in interim charge of the Test team earlier this year, is joined by ex-England wicketkeeper James Foster and former spinner Richard Dawson. Jonathan Trott, an Ashes winner with England, is about to begin a spell in charge of England Lions.
