The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo Sets a New Standard

Look at the spec sheet, and the Cayenne Electric Turbo has the capacity to be the most boring Porsche “Turbo” of them all. This is a big SUV that weighs nearly 6000 pounds and has no brawny V-8 to provide the sense of occasion of its combustion-powered siblings. Yet, after a brief stint behind the wheel, I was in the driver’s seat wearing a look of utter bewilderment and an unbreakable smile. This large, electric SUV is one great big ball of fun. And not just because of the huge performance; it can also play elite luxury cruiser when it’s done rearranging your organs. The Cayenne Electric is one of those cars that feels way better than it needs to. Underneath, it sits on the PPE platform, shared with Audi EVs and the Macan Electric, but talk to the engineering team, and they admit changing things substantially for the range-topping Cayenne Electric. Which, despite its shared name and similar design, is effectively unrelated to the gasoline-powered Cayenne. Use the Electric Turbo’s launch-control system, and the SUV unleashes up to 1139 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque from its mighty dual-motor setup.

2027 Ford Ranger Appears to Be Adding a Twin-Turbo 3.0-Liter V-6

Ford appears set to add the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 to the Ranger lineup for 2027, according to an order guide. The engine, which will replace the optional 2.7-liter V-6, is a detuned version of the engine found in the Bronco Raptor. The move mirrors a similar change for the Bronco, in which the detuned 3.0-liter produces 380 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. After Ford upgraded the Bronco for 2027 with a new engine, it’s now the Ranger’s turn. The Bronco Raptor’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 has been detuned and spread across the lower rungs of the Bronco lineup, and now it looks like the Ranger is set to get the same powertrain. As reported by Autoevolution, an order guide shows that the Ranger will replace the optional 2.7-liter V-6 with the new twin-turbo 3.0-liter unit. Marc Urbano|Car and DriverThe new 3.0-liter engine will replace the 2.7-liter V-6 seen here. While the Ranger’s XLT and Lariat trims will still come standard with the 270-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, the optional twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 is being replaced. The new 3.0-liter engine will continue to be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Quattro, Turbo V6, Double The Cargo Room - The $34,000 Audi A6 Allroad Is Better Than The Sedan In Every Way

Wilhelm's first experience as a motoring writer came in the early 2000s during job shadowing at Auto Express and Autocar magazines in the UK. Subsequently, he became a full-time motoring writer, contributing to websites and magazines across South Africa, the UK, the USA, and Germany. In South Africa, he has built a strong client base of owners and collectors who have given him access to their cars for feature stories. Depreciation is truly the friend of secondhand car buyers. It has created compelling opportunities in the used luxury-car market, allowing buyers to get behind the wheel of German executive cars that originally commanded substantial prices, for a fraction of their showroom prices. Despite their significantly lower used values, these vehicles still offer features that feel remarkably modern, including sophisticated infotainment systems, digital instrument clusters, and advanced driver-assistance technology. However, an attractive purchase price does not automatically translate into affordable ownership. Maintenance, repairs, and the potential for further depreciation remain important considerations when deciding whether a used luxury car represents genuine value.

2028 Mercedes-AMG GT SUV One-Ups The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric With 1,153 HP - Jalopnik

Whether you loved it or hated it, Mercedes sure got the car world talking when it showed off the 2027 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV. The styling was a wild departure from the Mercedes design language we're used to, it's the first production EV to feature axial flux motors, and if you spring for the GT63, it makes up to 1,153 horsepower. According to Mercedes, that's enough power to give it an official 0-to-60-mph time of 2.0 seconds. But crossovers still rule in 2026, and that means it's time for the new Mercedes-AMG GT SUV. If you want the most impressive performance, the 4-Door Coupe is still the one to buy over the larger, taller, more upright GT SUV. But the SUV borrows a lot more than the powertrain from the officially-not-a-sedan. Imagine the 4-Door Coupe as a crossover, and you probably pictured something pretty similar to what you see here. And in person, it works pretty well. I don't know if the SUV will win over anyone who already hated the 4-Door Coupe's styling, but personally I think the front end works better in crossover form, though I don't like the rear treatment quite as much.

After Five Years, The Range Rover Is Getting An Update, But You Won't Notice The Differences

The full-sized Range Rover still looks very fresh in our eyes, but Land Rover is preparing a minor facelift for it, and new spy shots provide us with our most detailed look at the SUV to date. While it doesn't rock the design boat, we're sure customers will appreciate the small changes. It's almost been exactly five years since the current, fifth-generation Range Rover was unveiled, so it is due for a refresh. Unlike previous prototypes, this one snapped at the Nürburgring is free of any black plastic cladding across the front, revealing its grille and bumper for the first time. Unless you're a die-hard Range Rover aficionado, you probably won't notice any changes, but they are there.
