MONTREAL (AP) Macklin Celebrini scored his second goal of the game on a power play at 2:13 of overtime to give the San Jose Sharks a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Celebrini fired a one-timer into the top-left corner after goalie Jakub Dobes was called for interference on Colin Graf. Celebrini added an assist and Tyler Toffoli and Michael Misa also scored to help San Jose (5-4-1) rebound from a 3-1 loss to Toronto on Monday night. Sharks goalie Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 31 shots. Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki had a goal and an assist each as Montreal (4-3-2) surrendered a two-goal advantage for the fourth time this season. Dobes made 26 saves. Misa, who hit the post earlier in the period, cut into the Canadiens’ lead at 5:36 in the third, finishing a feed from Kiefer Sherwood after Montreal defenseman Lane Hutson turned the puck over. Toffoli tied it with 8:51 remaining in regulation when he buried Celebrini’s pass on the power play with Arber Xhekaj in the penalty box for unsportsmanlike conduct. Sharks: At Ottawa on Thursday night. Canadiens: At Chicago on Friday night.---See AP’s full NHL coverage here

Maple Leafs’ McCabe exits game with injury vs. Blue Jackets - TSN

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe exited Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an injury and did not return, the team confirmed. McCabe left the game midway through the first period after he was high-sticked by Blue Kent Johnson. Johnson’s stick made contact with the left-side of McCabe’s face and around the eye area. The 33-year-old defenceman lay on the ice for significant length of time before going to the bench with the assistance of the Maple Leafs’ medical staff. Johnson received a double-minor for high-sticking for the play with the game tied 1-1 but the Maple Leafs failed to score on the power-play. Toronto would go on to beat the Blue Jackets 6-2. Following the game, Leafs head coach Jim Hiller told the media McCabe was left out as a precaution. “I bumped into him, seems to be doing OK,” said Hiller. McCabe’s injury adds pressure to an already weakened Maple Leafs blueline that is already missing Chris Tanev. Tanev is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury. The 6-foot-1, left-shot blueliner has yet to record a point this season with the Maple Leafs and has a minus-1 rating while averaging 20:10 of icetime this season.

NFLPA wants full investigation into handling of Hurts' medical process - theScore

The NFLPA is calling for a full investigation into the medical care Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received after he was diagnosed with blood clots. "The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts," the union said in a statement Tuesday, according to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic. "In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received. Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward. "The union's comments come after the league publicly backed the Eagles' handling of Hurts' medical process, confirming Philadelphia wouldn't face related discipline. The quarterback was cleared to play in London with a superficial blood clot in his calf but later developed pulmonary emboli in his lungs and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
