The uncrewed undersea vehicle (UUV) technology is expected to be ready by next year. While the project's total cost was not stated, UK Defence Secretary John Healey said his nation would contribute £150m ($201m). The announcement, made by the countries' defence ministers at a security summit in Singapore, follows claims of slow progress in Aukus's projects. Acknowledging the criticism, Healey said "for too long in Aukus, we talked too much and delivered too little", adding "that has now changed under our three governments". The Aukus defence pact, which began in 2021, affirmed the three countries would develop nuclear submarines and share military expertise. It is widely seen as a way to counter China's growing maritime presence in the Indo-Pacific and its role in rising tensions in disputed territories such as the South China Sea.

Despite seven years of Android folding phones, Apple's iPhone Duo launch has spurred developers to create quirky, weird, and fun apps that experiment with the folding design (leaving Android owners feeling like second-class citizens yet again). I've reviewed almost every folding phone in the past decade, and my inbox has never seen this many app pitches from indie developers wanting to show off their app for Apple's first foldable. Some of these apps aren't necessarily new but use the phone's hinge to offer fresh experiences. You'll also find a “Made for iPhone Duo” badge on apps that make best use of the larger screens on the App Store. From a game that has you closing the phone to grill a piece of toast to a clever way to memorize flash cards, here are nine unique apps to try on your new Apple handset. On the larger 7.6-inch screen, you get a sprawling canvas, but in tabletop mode, you can view your ships on the bottom screen and the enemy's fleet above.

Lorlatinib continues to deliver exceptional long-term disease control in previously untreated ALK-positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer, but new translational data from CROWN are beginning to clarify why a minority of patients still progress early. At ESMO Congress 2026, an exploratory circulating tumor DNA analysis from the phase III CROWN trial showed that early progression on lorlatinib was associated with greater baseline genomic complexity, higher blood-based tumor mutational burden, more frequent TP53 alterations, and enrichment of inflammatory-response pathways.
