Image source, Getty ImagesImage caption, The price of attending and watching sport in the UK is coming under significant scrutinyByDaniel AustinBBC Sport senior journalistAt least £115 to watch a day of the Ashes in Birmingham - unless you are an Edgbaston member. A minimum of £255 for a standard seat at the Wimbledon singles finals. Prices starting from £289 for general admission to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on raceday. Even for armchair fans watching at home, the breadth and expense of television subscriptions can be a barrier to accessing sport. So what exactly is behind the rise in prices, can the increases possibly be justified and what does it all mean for fans? In a new BBC Radio 5 Live programme - The Price of Our Sport - BBC Sport has taken a look.

Maple Leafs’ McCabe exits game with injury vs. Blue Jackets - TSN
Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe exited Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an injury and did not return, the team confirmed. McCabe left the game midway through the first period after he was high-sticked by Blue Kent Johnson. Johnson’s stick made contact with the left-side of McCabe’s face and around the eye area. The 33-year-old defenceman lay on the ice for significant length of time before going to the bench with the assistance of the Maple Leafs’ medical staff. Johnson received a double-minor for high-sticking for the play with the game tied 1-1 but the Maple Leafs failed to score on the power-play. Toronto would go on to beat the Blue Jackets 6-2. Following the game, Leafs head coach Jim Hiller told the media McCabe was left out as a precaution. “I bumped into him, seems to be doing OK,” said Hiller. McCabe’s injury adds pressure to an already weakened Maple Leafs blueline that is already missing Chris Tanev. Tanev is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury. The 6-foot-1, left-shot blueliner has yet to record a point this season with the Maple Leafs and has a minus-1 rating while averaging 20:10 of icetime this season.

NFLPA wants full investigation into handling of Hurts' medical process - theScore
The NFLPA is calling for a full investigation into the medical care Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received after he was diagnosed with blood clots. "The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts," the union said in a statement Tuesday, according to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic. "In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received. Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward. "The union's comments come after the league publicly backed the Eagles' handling of Hurts' medical process, confirming Philadelphia wouldn't face related discipline. The quarterback was cleared to play in London with a superficial blood clot in his calf but later developed pulmonary emboli in his lungs and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
