Honey, Xbox shrunk its controller - The Verge

Tom Warren is a senior correspondent and author of Notepad, who has been covering all things Microsoft, PC, and tech for over 20 years. Microsoft is officially announcing its Xbox Nano controller today, a smaller and cheaper controller that’s designed to fit into your pocket. The more compact controller is also designed for “younger players, smaller hands, or anyone seeking something portable for play on the go.”The $49.99 Xbox Nano is Microsoft’s smallest controller, and it’s shorter than most smartphones at just over five inches in length. It has all the regular buttons you’d find on a normal Xbox controller, as well as Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth support for connecting to Xbox consoles and phones, tablets, and PCs. The Xbox Nano controller also includes a rechargeable battery, and doesn’t require AA batteries or a separate charging pack like most Xbox controllers. Microsoft has also added a programmable Action Button to the Xbox Nano controller that can be customized to take screenshots, gameplay capture, and other Xbox shortcuts. The Xbox Nano originally leaked earlier this year with what looked like a tiny screen to indicate cloud or console connectivity.

Hellraiser's Clive Barker Feared New Game Would Be 'Overly Censored' But Is 'Proud as F**k at the End Result'

Hellraiser creator Clive Barker was worried the franchise's new video game would be "overly censored," but he's "proud as f**k" of "how far they've been able to push it. "The mind behind one of horror's most twisted franchises spoke about his feelings on Saber Interactive's Hellraiser: Revival during a recent chat with Dread Central. Where other adaptations of iconic properties often come and go, Barker only had nice things to say about the experience. "I was fearful at one point that the game would be overly censored but I’m genuinely astonished by how far they’ve been able to push it," he said. So as not to mince words, Barker clarified: "I'm proud as f**k at the end result. "It's about as much praise as Saber and Hellraiser fans could ever hope to see for the new game. Revival ditched the asymmetrical multiplayer formula used by other adaptations through the last decade and instead delivered a single-player survival experience set within the Hellraiser world. Pinhead and other Cenobites helped Saber earn its now famously strict "M for Mature" rating, which warns players of "blood and gore, intense violence, nudity, and strong sexual content," among other things.
