I'm a matchmaker for people over 50. The couples who end up in the happiest relationships don't look for chemistry first. - Business Insider

Brigitte Weil is a matchmaker who works with older clients. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Brigitte Weil. It has been edited for length and clarity. My parents have been married for 62 years, and my grandparents were married for 76. I've always been surrounded by longevity in relationships, and it's something that captivates me. Becoming a matchmaker who works with older adults was a natural fit. Dating in your 70s or older is radically different from dating in your 30s or even 50s. Younger people are looking for someone to build a life with, but older people are seeking someone who can share a life that's already been created. Lifestyle compatibility becomes critical with ageWhen I match older clients, I need to know that their lifestyles will mesh well. We're talking less about chemistry, or someone who checks all the boxes, and more about how their lifestyles can be shared. Older clients care less about a man's height or a woman's appearance in a bikini. Even finances play a smaller role. Instead, geography becomes a big issue: many people don't want to move and give up their community and family connections.

Report: Kings G Simmons believed to have torn Achilles tendon - TSN

Sacramento Kings guard Ben Simmons has sustained a torn Achilles tendon and will undergo surgery, the team announced Sunday. This is likely a season-ending injury for Simmons, 30, who authored an impressive training camp on short notice for Sacramento. The injury occurred during a live drill at Sunday's practice, the team said. A three-time All-Star, Simmons agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Kings on Sept. 4. Healthy at the time of the deal, the 6-foot-10, 240-pound guard impressed Kings general manager Scott Perry when he worked out for Perry in Miami and had an hourlong meeting in late August. "I've faced challenges before that tested me mentally, physically and emotionally, and I've found a way through every single one of them," Simmons wrote in a statement posted on social media. "This injury is another chapter in my journey, not the end of my story. "Simmons also traveled to Sacramento last month to visit the Kings and impressed coach Doug Christie and other members of the basketball staff at the team's practice facility, where Simmons underwent an in-depth medical exam and conducted an on-court workout.
