Entertainment center in Mesa hosting new First Friday event - AZ Family

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Cannon Beach Entertainment Center in Mesa is hosting its own First Friday event with a soft launch on Friday. Ryan Armstrong, special events and partnerships coordinator for Cannon Beach and Revel Surf, said the venue is ideal to host an event like First Friday. “Cannon Beach as a whole is the new entertainment mecca of the East Valley,” he said. The Cannon Beach event is not affiliated with — nor a relocation of — the long-running First Friday art walk in Phoenix. While the Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation and Downtown Phoenix Inc. suspended the ARTS Market street closure and vendor setup on Roosevelt Row indefinitely following safety concerns, other First Friday events in Phoenix continue to take place. Armstrong said the complex currently houses KTR Cannon Beach, MiniCity indoor playground and BRKTHROUGH challenge venue, with additional venues in development. Level 11, planned to offer indoor go-karting, a movie theater and bowling, is expected to open in the future, along with two hotels currently in the works.

Pregnancy After Living Kidney Donation, With Amit X. Garg, MD, PhD - HCPLive

News|Videos|October 22, 2026 Amit X. Garg, MD, PhD, discusses new JAMA data on preeclampsia risk after living kidney donation in a 3-part video interview. A 3-part video interview covers new Canadian data on hypertensive disorders, small for gestational age births, and donor counseling. Whether donating a kidney will affect future pregnancies is one of the questions living donor candidates of childbearing age raise most often, and counseling practices still vary across transplant centers.¹A matched cohort study presented at American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week 2026 and published simultaneously in JAMA offers new data. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including gestational hypertension and preeclampsia, occurred in 11.9% of donor pregnancies vs 8.3% of matched nondonor pregnancies across 3 Canadian provinces, though more than 88% of donor pregnancies were unaffected.¹,² Small for gestational age (SGA) births were also more common among donors.¹Amit X.
