New Hampshire police officials renewed an appeal for public assistance in the unsolved murder of a Portsmouth woman 44 years ago, officials announced Sunday. Tammy Little, a 20-year-old student attending the Portsmouth Beauty School, was last seen alive in the early morning hours of Oct. 16, 1982, according to a statement from the N. H. district attorney’s office. Three days later on Oct. 19, 1982, she was found murdered in her apartment at 315 Maplewood Ave. An autopsy determined Little died from massive head injuries, the statement said. Her murder has gone unsolved for 44 years. N. H. Attorney General John Formella, alongside state and Portsmouth police, shared in a statement a previously unreleased photograph of Little. “Investigators hope the image might spark memories for individuals who lived, worked, or attended school in the Portsmouth area at the time of her death,” the statement said. Little’s family continues to honor her memory and seek justice for her, the statement said. Her family shared a statement with the attorney general’s office, calling Little “the most joyful person.”“She was everyone’s friend,” the family’s statement said.
