The old phrase, “Be careful what you wish for,” is applied to horror movies pretty often, even if it’s not as overt as something like The Monkey just recently. Whether it’s a variety of Twilight Zone episodes, Tales From the Crypt shorts, or the occasional Stephen King work like Needful Things, the perils of monkey paw-type logic when it comes to supernatural horror plotlines rarely result in a happy ending. And so here we have Obsession, made for a million bucks by Curry Barker, a young guy who has built quite the brand via comedy and horror shorts found on YouTube. Whether or not this film brings much new to the table regarding the dangers of dreams coming true, co-dependent relationships, and toxic behavior in general, it still manages to nail the uncomfortable terror of someone’s unwavering mania. As a result, this is an effective horror feature that builds dread and terror through an eerie approach to its story, blended quite well with a dark sense of humor. However, most importantly, the incredible work by Inde Navarrette holds all of this together thanks to her commitment.

Meghan broke contact with father in letter citing abuse claims - BBC
The Duchess of Sussex broke contact with her father last year, telling him she and the authorities knew he had abused young girls, the BBC understands. Sources close to the duchess said Meghan warned Thomas Markle in a letter that he would never meet his grandchildren. It is understood the letter was sent to Markle, 82, while he was in hospital in the Philippines after having his leg amputated. It has been reported that images of child sexual abuse allegedly belonging to Markle had been found in his former home in the Philippines and UK police in 2019 told Meghan about claims of abuse against him. Markle, who is based in the US, denies all such allegations. Meghan has been estranged from her father since 2018. He pulled out of his daughter's royal wedding that year, citing ill health. The letter sent by in 2025 appears to be the end of what has been a troubled relationship between father and daughter. It is understood details of the letter, first reported in the Sun on Sunday, include Meghan telling Markle that he would never meet his grandchildren, Archie and Lillibet, with Meghan making it clear she would never contact her father again.
