Crystal Lake Season 1: Linda Cardellini's Pamela Is The Performance Of The Week - TVLine
THE PERFORMANCE | We could've chosen any episode of "Crystal Lake" to celebrate Linda Cardellini's excellent, refined, and at times, terrifying performance, but it was the season finale of Peacock's "Friday the 13th" prequel that really had our blood pumping. The "Dead to Me" vet plays Pamela Voorhees, a mother on the run from a dark past whose child drowns and goes missing. And it's that traumatic event that triggers Mom to spiral as she slowly slips into insanity and turns into a monster. In Episode 8, Cardellini continued to tear out our hearts and scare the bejeezus out of us in one fell swoop. The actress first showed Pam's vulnerable side early in the hour, after the character revealed the chaos she had fled. Cardellini's eyes filled with fear after sharing the story of her husband Elias' evil ways and admitting to (some of) the murders she had committed.

Crystal Lake dulls Friday The 13th’s jagged edges - A.V. Club
This article contains spoilers for Crystal Lake. It was around halfway through Crystal Lake that I realized the Peacock miniseries wasn’t clicking for me. I’ll admit that the premise had me apprehensive from the jump: A prequel expansion to Friday The 13th, in the vein of Bates Motel, sounded antithetical to enjoying a proper Voorhees chop-em-up. But I was still willing to give Crystal Lake, with its A24 pedigree, an honest, open-minded go. At the streaming-era standard eight episodes, Brad Caleb Kane’s series does what it says on the tin: It marries slasher thrills to the complex melodrama of a contemporary TV show with a veneer of prestige, making Friday‘s monsters into human beings in the process.

Sam Fender calls out ticket prices ahead of tour - BBC
2 hours agoEvie LakeNorth East and CumbriaPA MediaSam Fender said prices for his 2027 stadium tour would be loweredSam Fender has called out the price of gig tickets ahead of his next tour, promising to lower the cost. The 32-year-old announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour earlier this week, which will visit Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027. While tickets are yet to go on sale, Fender responded to a post on social media which claimed to outline the expected ticket prices. The Geordie musician also said standing would not be split into a front and back tier and he had "no idea how this was normalised at gigs". Tickets are due to go on general sale at 09:30 GMT on Friday, with a pre-sale at the same time on Wednesday. But Fender said he was "not happy" with the reported prices. "They're getting changed," he said on Instagram. "It got inflated well more than I'd had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on. "The North Shields singer also said he did not want there to be an option for fans to pay more money to be closer to the front.
