How can an opening game 16-5 loss possibly be viewed as reason for optimism? To be fair, the read from Laurentian Voyageurs lacrosse head coach Matt Delabbio and his players is actually right on the money.

The 2026 Heritage Classic will be a sight to see.

The Hanshin Tigers made it official today, announcing that Teruaki Sato will be posted for Major League teams this offseason.  The posting has been rumored to be in the works for months, and at least five (and likely many more) MLB clubs have already shown interest in the reigning Central League MVP. Sato’s stock is high enough that MLBTR’s Steve Adams placed him second among all free agents in the September edition of the free agent power rankings, which rank players based on earning potential.  Sato is relatively young (turning 28 in March), can play both third base and right field, and he has been arguably the best hitter in Nippon Professional Baseball over the last two seasons.  That said, Sato isn’t considered a strong defender at either position, his strikeout and contact rates leave something to be desired, and there is the standard uncertainty over how star NPB players will adjust to Major League Baseball.
