This month, Kate Middleton reminds us not to overlook a certain classic print. (Getty )Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has one of the most covetable closets on earth. From gorgeous gowns to everyday designer duds, the royal has impeccable style, and one of her recent outfits has been living rent-free in our heads. Last week, the royal, accompanied by her husband Prince William, visited Northern Ireland and stepped out in a quintessential fall outfit. For the occasion, Kate wore a long black coat, a white ruffled blouse and a dark green plaid skirt. She finished her look with a dark green purse, a black belt, pumps and small hoop earrings. While her entire look was undeniably pretty and polished, her autumn-ready skirt is the piece we most want to add to our closets. Plaid is this season's must-have, and midi skirts are a fun way to mix things up beyond your favorite jeans or trousers. You can style a plaid skirt like Kate did, with a more formal blouse and heels, or keep things casual by pairing your pick with a cozy knit and some tall boots. A midi skirt can work for the office, weekend plans with friends or dinner out, based on how you style it.
