I Ate Cottage Cheese Every Day for 2 Weeks—This Was the Most Surprising Change - Yahoo Lifestyle Canada
Cottage cheese is having a serious moment. The high-protein staple has skyrocketed in popularity, with many people on social media noting the powerful health benefits of cottage cheese. As a cottage cheese lover since day one, I didn't hesitate when an editor suggested a two-week experiment: eat cottage cheese every day and see what happens. "Cottage cheese is a great source of protein and is rich in nutrients like calcium, phosphorus and B vitamins–specifically B12," says Laura Iu, R. D., a certified intuitive eating counselor, yoga guide, and owner of Laura Iu Nutrition, a private practice in New York City. Surprisingly, it didn't take long for me to notice the health benefits of eating cottage cheese every day. While I wasn't surprised to feel more energized thanks to the high protein content, there were other changes that did surprise me. I also enjoyed trying different recipes to work this staple into my diet without getting tired of it. Luckily, cottage cheese is incredibly versatile. I couldn't get enough of it, but if you're not a fan of the texture or taste, the good news is that Greek yogurt offers similar benefits.
