For 2027, Ineos Automotive has added a new Grenadier model with a nautical bent, the Helmsman Edition. It’ll be available in both station wagon and pickup body styles and is expected to cost under $100,000, but an exact release time in the U. S. has not yet been announced. This is only the first in a series of themed special Grenadier models we can expect in the future. Ineos Automotive is giving its deliberately old-school Grenadier a bit of a lifestyle twist with the new Helmsman Edition, a limited-production model aimed at buyers whose idea of an adventure involves kayaks and the occasional foray on a muddy access road. The Helmsman goes on sale for the 2027 model year in both Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster Pickup forms. Ineos has confirmed the edition for its global markets, but U. S. pricing and exact availability have not yet been announced. In the U. K., where the model was unveiled, it starts at £70,995, or roughly $93,800. The new edition arrives as Ineos continues to build a strong business in the United States.

VERDICTThe Ineos Grenadier is an uncompromising off-road conqueror packed with vintage charm, but its coarse on-road demeanor limits its appeal. Its rugged, vintage design calls back to a bygone era of boxy 1980's adventure rigs—it looks almost identical to an old Land Rover Defender 110—and its cabin is filled with toggles and switches rather than screens and touch-capacitive buttons. Most of the Grenadier's underpinnings are old-school, too. With body-on-frame construction, recirculating ball steering, solid front and rear axles, three locking differentials, and a two-speed transfer case with manual engagement, the Grenadier rejects modernity to be the most capable off-roader that it can be.

VERDICTThe utilitarian Grenadier is an off-road SUV that derives its luxury status more from its capability and its novelty than from its on-road comfort. Seating 5 Seats Powertrain Gas Drivetrain Four-Wheel Drive Limited Warranty 5 Years/60,000 Miles By Drew DorianOverview If you're increasingly put off by new automotive technology, the 2026 Ineos Grenadier Station Wagon might be exactly what you're looking for. Its old-school design makes for a simplistic, utilitarian SUV, meaning its hard-core off-road capability takes center stage. There's just one screen inside, a 12.3-inch infotainment readout that also doubles as a gauge cluster. The Grenadier’s body-on-frame construction and old-fashioned chassis components admittedly deliver an unrefined on-road demeanor, but certain drivers will find the Grenadier appealing rather than unsophisticated.

The Helmsman model is aimed at clients with a nautical lifestyle Ineos has just unveiled a special edition version of its civilized, but savage Grenadier off-roader, aimed at buyers who live a "nautical lifestyle". The launch follows steadily rising sales for the brand, established in 2016 by billionaire businessman Jim Ratcliffe, which has already created some wildly expensive Grenadier variants. The special Grenadier Helmsman is available for both the Station Wagon and Quartermaster models. As standard, the Helmsman is sold in Eldoret Blue or Scottish White, but customers can option the Whiteout Blue metallic finish shown in these photos.

For many shoppers, that V8 (or the gutsy 3.0-liter straight-six) is all they need.
