Hyundai's New 'Monochrome' Elantra N Proves Less Really Is More
Classic gems, tasteful customs, legendary supercars - for Silvian, they're all fair game. He's been in love with cars and motorcycles for as long as he can remember, so it made perfect sense to eventually turn that passion into a full-time writing career. Around six years and more than 3,000 articles later, he is still going strong and doesn't plan on hitting the brakes anytime soon. The Hyundai Elantra N is an absolute blast, as evidenced by all the praise it’s been getting since it first arrived as a 2022 model. It carries a two-liter turbocharged inline-four with 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque, all sent to the front wheels by way of a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed DCT. And although it isn’t the first car to prove that FWD can be a ton of fun, it most certainly does a great job at reiterating that point. Stylistically, it makes a bold statement with its red highlighting and wing-type rear spoiler, so as to let everyone know they’re not looking at a regular Elantra. But what if you wanted something a bit more understated?

Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome Looks Sleek but Isn’t for America
The Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome highlights the sport compact’s performance by toning down some of its more extroverted styling details. The new Monochrome edition comes in two trims; both have Alcantara interior bits, but the Upper Trim adds carbon-fiber exterior add-ons.

Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome Is For Drivers Who Hate Attention
Hyundai N models are known for their aggressive body kits and sporty stance, but not everyone likes the attention. For buyers who prefer a more restrained appearance without losing any of the performance and handling of the Elantra N, Hyundai has introduced a new Monochrome edition with stealthy looks. The automaker has already introduced a new generation of the Elantra (Avante) in Korea, but the N version is still based on the previous generation model. This makes the Monochrome edition something like a farewell special, with a new Elantra N expected to arrive in 2027. The performance sedan does without the signature red accents on the N-specific aero kit, swapping them with body-colored trim. It also gains a new set of forged alloy wheels finished in black, with matching brake calipers. The front bumper gains more black trim between the intakes, reducing visual complexity. In the same context, the color palette of the special edition is limited to two options — Abyss Black Pearl, and Performance Blue.
