127 kg of cocaine seized at Ambassador Bridge - CP24
Published: October 19, 2026 at 11:29a.m. EDTCanada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers seized 127 kg of suspected cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge border crossing between Windsor, Ont. and Detroit. CBSA officials said it was seized from a commercial truck arriving from the United States on Sept. 11, 2026. After being referred for a secondary examination by a CBSA officer, border services officers used the assistance of a detector dog to detect and seize 127 kg of suspected cocaine in the trailer. “This seizure at the Ambassador Bridge shows the important work our border services officers do every day to keep illegal drugs out of Canada. Their experience, attention to detail and use of technology helped stop a significant amount of cocaine from entering the country. Working with our law enforcement partners, we are disrupting cross-border drug trafficking and protecting Canadian communities,” said Michael Prosia, regional director general for the CBSA’s Southern Ontario Region. The CBSA arrested Vasyl Galychyn, 61, and Anton Chernyshov, 41, both of Mississauga, Ont. The two men and the seized narcotics were transferred by CBSA officers to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Police seized drugs from a Saskatoon home, returned 2 days later to gruesome murder scene - CBC
Warning: This story contains graphic details about a murder scene. When police responded to a 911 call at a home one winter day in Saskatoon, they didn't find an emergency. They did find a flimsily barricaded door that appeared to have been kicked in, a young man sleeping on a couch upstairs, and a jumbled pile of "suspicious" brown glass bottles with pink liquid on a bed downstairs. Officers seized the bottles. They didn't arrest or charge the man on the couch. Two days later, when police returned with a search warrant for the same house, they found that man again. In pieces. His name was Lee Perkins. He was 25 years old. He had been tortured, killed and mutilated. Officers found his remains stuffed into a large plastic tote. Lee Perkins's parents, brother and sister-in-law are seen outside Saskatoon Court of King's Bench in September, wearing shirts with his photo on the front. On the back, the shirts say, "Justice for Lee. " (Hannah Spray/CBC)3 people chargedThree people are accused in relation to his death, and because of the multiple court proceedings, almost all of the details about the case were subject to publication bans, to protect their rights to fair trials.
