Control Resonant Review: A Mind-Bending Action Masterpiece - VICE
When Control Resonant was first revealed in 2025, I was unsure how Remedy Entertainment would take on the action RPG genre. After spending nearly 60 hours with the sequel, I can thankfully say it’s not only one of the best action games this year, but it also has some of the best level design I’ve ever experienced in any game. Control Resonant might be Remedy’s most groundbreaking and genre-bending project to date. Let’s get one thing out of the way: I’m an admitted Control fanboy. When the first title came out in 2019, I instantly fell in love with the world of the FBC and Jesse Faden’s journey to save her long-lost brother, Dylan. Control offered the perfect balance of Lynchian weirdness while also feeling like a precursor to shows such as HBO’s Severance.

Local ‘Below’ Actress Makes Directorial Debut at SJIWFF with ‘Margot’ - VOCM
An actress who some may recognize as the ‘Old Hag’ in the Netflix series Below, makes her directorial debut this evening at the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. Marthe Bernard’s short film ‘Margot’ will hit the big screen Friday night at The Majestic. The film is about a couple who go on a vacation when one of their ex’s shows up. Marthe Bernard, Writer and Director of Margot at the SJIWFF (VOCM News)Bernard says she really wanted to work with the three actors who star in the film, and she also wanted to film it in her childhood cabin near Trinity Bay. The cabin didn’t even have electricity, so she says it was a very cozy experience all around. She says they had to use battery operated lights, and a generator to bring the film to life. “We had this tiny little crew packed into this small cabin with the woodstove going to keep us warm.”She says it was a very fun shoot to do for her first time directing.
