Celebrate 30 Years Of Gran Turismo With New Cars, Limited-Edition Controller

Apologies to anyone else who spent afternoons after class playing Gran Turismo, but the gaming series turns 30 next year. But if you can't wait that long to celebrate, here's a new update and merch for you to enjoy. At least the plus side is that the update is free and includes a Ferrari F355, a French economy car, and a minivan. If that's not Gran Turismo, what is? Let's dive into the details. We've already briefly told you about the game's Spec IV update, but today, we know more about what's included. Released on October 15, update 1.72 adds six vehicles. They include the Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, the 1986 Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston, the 1987 Honda Civic Si Group A race car, the 2023 Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line, the 2026 Mazda RX-VISION GT3 EVO, and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo. It's an appropriate lineup for a series that often includes both extreme concepts and cars like the Daihatsu Midget. On top of that, or below it rather, is a new track as well.

This Refurbished One-Off Bugatti Veyron Is a Mirror on Wheels

Bugatti just restored a one-of-one Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse with a body made entirely of polished aluminum. The mirror-like exterior is contrasted with a bright red leather interior that’s accented by exposed carbon fiber and even more polished aluminum. Chassis 8.100 was the most expensive Veyron ever made when it was built in 2014, and the Bugatti Atelier brought it back to its original form for the supercar’s new owner more than 10 years later. If you have a hard time keeping household mirrors clean, you may want to steer clear of this one-of-a-kind Bugatti—especially now that it’s been tediously refurbished to day-one perfection. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was a record-breaking roadster when it debuted in 2012, and it was brought to an entirely new level when someone commissioned one with a body made entirely of polished aluminum to create a mirror-like finish. The one-of-one Veyron, which is chassis 8.100, required massive aluminum blocks weighing up to 20 tons to be delivered to Bugatti’s headquarters in Molsheim, France, when it was built in 2014. At the time, it was reportedly the most expensive Veyron ever created.

3-Cylinders, Limited Edition, Designer Interior - This Turbocharged Suzuki Jimny Just Sold For $7,000

James Kelly didn't grow up knowing he wanted to be a writer, but once he fell into the whacky world of automotive journalism, he hasn't wanted to leave. In college, he found ways to make every paper he wrote related to automobiles and even hosted a show on the campus radio station called "The Engine Block. " James's experience involves road-testing brand new cars, breaking old cars, and everything in between. Designer collaborations with car companies seem like a fever dream from a bygone era. In the 1970s, AMC teamed up with Gucci and even Levi’s for Gremlins and Jeeps clad with denim interiors. Plus, Lincoln Mark IV Continentals offered special editions tweaked by fashionable companies such as Cartier, Givenchy, and Bill Blass. Suzuki wanted to do something similar for its Jimny compact SUV. The result was a collaboration with fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto in the 1990s. An example of this designer-tweaked Jimny recently sold on Bring a Trailer for $6,600. It was one of the coolest, weirdest, most intriguing versions of Suzuki’s miniature 4x4.

Acura’s Future Includes More Models in Popular Segments

Acura is targeting a significant jump in its sales figures once it adds two key SUVs, to the lineup, a report from Automotive News details. The planned increase in sales hinges on the recently confirmed “Acura Passport” as well as the confirmed eight-passenger SUV the brand is currently developing. Both models will fill sizable gaps in Acura’s lineup, with the former finally giving the brand an off-road-focused SUV. Burgers, baseball, and big SUVs. These are the things Americans like. At the moment, Acura doesn’t cater to any of the three. The automaker is hoping to change that in the near future as it expands its lineup from four models on offer to six. While it doesn’t have any plans (that we know of) concerning burgers or baseball, the automaker has confirmed plans for a new full-size three-row SUV as well as a new off-roader. AcuraAcura confirmed the plans for both SUVs earlier this month, and now a new report from Automotive News gives more insight into the automaker’s expected trajectory. The off-roader, which the report says is being referred to internally as the “Acura Passport,” will, as the name implies, be based on the Honda Passport.
