Ford has revealed the Bronco ORV, a package from the Ford Custom Garage program that can be added to 2025 and 2026 Broncos. The ORV includes a Fox off-road suspension setup, a skid plate from the Bronco Raptor, auxiliary LED lights, and a ProCal calibration tool. Ford also added 17-inch black Weld wheels, red Bronco badging, a matte black hood decal, and an ORV badge on the fenders. Not only has the return of the Ford Bronco in 2021 given the Blue Oval a strong competitor to the Jeep Wrangler—one that sold 146,007 units last year—but it has also provided Ford with a canvas on which to apply all manner of special editions. Along with the two-tone Heritage Edition, the desert-ready Stroppe Edition, and the dazzling Free Wheeling package, Ford has now begun cooking up unique looks via its Ford Custom Garage program. The latest is the Bronco ORV, which preps the SUV for off-road adventures with a subtly aggressive appearance. FordFordThe Bronco ORV is available on three trims: the base Bronco, the Outer Banks, and the Big Bend, with or without the Sasquatch package.

NHTSA’s Changing the Definition of a ‘Truck,’ Possibly Encouraging More Overseas Production
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has just published a rule document that changes the way a “truck” is defined starting with the 2030 model year. The change would reclassify many of today’s vehicles from “light trucks” to cars, on the basis that they can’t realistically be used for off-roading and cargo hauling but are primarily passenger vehicles. The intention is to loosen fuel-economy standards, but in practice the rule change could mean it makes more sense for automakers to build vehicles overseas and import them. We’ve all known that the way the government classifies trucks and cars has been a bit of a moving target, so NHTSA is finally forcing trucks to actually do truck things. The changes—which would reclassify today’s 70/30 truck-to-car ratio into a 30/70 situation—were made as part of the government’s loosening of MPG rules. But the different rules for cars and trucks could mean that it will make sense to build a vehicle overseas and import it, given different rules for the domestic and imported fleets. Some questions are difficult to answer. Is a hot dog a sandwich? Do crabs think fish can fly? Is a light truck a passenger car?

IndyCar Will Race In Barcelona Next Season, Marking 1st European Round In 20 Years
IndyCar will be visiting the hometown of its reigning five-time champion Alex Palou in 2027. The series announced on Friday that it will be competing at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next season. The race slated for July 18 is the first of a multi-year agreement and the first European round for IndyCar since the Champ Car World Series' 2007 visit to the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The Barcelona race is the only new addition to the 2027 IndyCar schedule as Washington, D. C. and Nashville are dropped from the schedule. IndyCar's hunt for a marquee international round has long revolved around a potential event at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City to capitalize on the popularity of Mexican driver Pato O'Ward. However, negotiations have dragged on for years with no actual race. This year, IndyCar hinted at talks for a round at Goiânia, the new home of MotoGP's Brazilian Grand Prix. The series last raced outside of North America in Brazil with a 2013 street race in São Paulo.
