CALGARY — Morgan Frost scored once and set up Yegor Sharangovich’s late game-winner as the Calgary Flames beat Carolina 3-2 on Sunday night, snapping the Hurricanes’ seven-game winning streak. Matvei Gridin also scored for Calgary (2-6-0), which won for the first time in four games on home ice. Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jalen Chatfield scored for Carolina (7-2-1). Devin Cooley made 34 stops for his first-win of the season. His season’s record improved to 1-2. Brandon Bussi, who had 31 stops for the defending Stanley Cup champions, took the loss to fall to 2-2-1. The game was scoreless into the second period when Kotkaniemi opened the scoring at 6:09, jamming in a rebound from the top of the crease. The goal came on Carolina’s 19th shot of the game as Cooley had made a series of spectacular saves to keep the game scoreless. It was a tremendous bounceback effort for Cooley, who in his last start 10 days ago, was beaten seven times on 30 shots by the Colorado Avalanche. Dustin Wolf had started the last three games for the Flames.

Sharks vs Maple Leafs Prediction, Picks, Prop Bets For October 19, 2026 - NHL - Covers.com

Roslovic leads Toronto with 30 SOG through nine games. He's recorded three or more in five of his last six and has put up back-to-back five-shot performances. He's also averaging 1:25 of power-play time per game, and faces a San Jose squad that ranks 20th in shots allowed this season. This total will close at 7. The Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks are two poor defensive teams, ranking in the bottom seven in expected goals allowed/60 at all strengths. Both clubs also surrender plenty of quality chances on the penalty kill, ranking in the bottom six in 4-on-5 xGA/60. Add in two teams with save percentages in the bottom third of the league, and Monday night could get a little raucous. The Leafs were riding a five-game Over streak before Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders snapped it. However, scoring on Ilya Sorokin is much different than facing Yaroslav Askarov, who has allowed 3+ goals in every start this season. If Askarov gets the nod, expect this total to move north quickly. Likely Toronto starter Anthony Stolarz hasn't been much better, allowing nine goals over his last two games.

Ducks endure travel issues to New York ‘like pros’ - NHL.com

NEW YORK -- The Anaheim Ducks' four-game road trip to the East Coast got off to a turbulent start Sunday with a cross-country journey they won't soon forget. Their voyage from Southern California to New York took 15 hours with a three-hour time difference tossed into the mix.
