Quebecers must now align themselves with Albertans to give themselves “a balance of power” in the federation, argued the leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ), Éric Duhaime, on Tuesday, the day after a multi-question referendum was held in the western province.
Albertans said no to holding a future referendum on independence, but said yes to their province gaining additional control and powers over immigration, and also said yes to negotiations with other provinces to obtain further federal powers.
