"We have this gift of being apart a lot, and that is the way to do it," revealed the actress. Russell and Rhys, who played husband and wife on The Americans, have been together for 12 years. After more than a decade together, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys benefit from occasional time apart. The couple, who also played a married couple for six seasons on FX's The Americans, juggle their respective acting careers with three children (plus, a new dog). "We're in a heavy relationship," Russell admitted on the Dear Chelsea podcast. "But, I have this gift. We have this gift of being apart a lot, and that is the way to do it. Missing ‘Widow’s Bay’? Consider the Matthew Rhys pipeline. - Yahoo
Like everyone else, I was obsessed with Widow's Bay. Obviously, there are several things to appreciate about the Katie Dippold-created series: it's set in a seemingly quaint, though secretly twisted New England town with a dark history, it features a dysfunctional cast of quirky yet brilliantly realized characters and is equal parts spooky and hilarious. But to be obsessed with Widow's Bay is to be obsessed with its star, the man of the hour and — in my humble opinion — the "it" man of television, Matthew Rhys. Rhys shines as Tom Loftis, the local mayor who's bent on making Widow's Bay a coveted tourist destination ("The next Martha's Vineyard! "), even though the island is clearly haunted. Rhys was recognized for his portrayal of the unraveling city official at this year's Emmys, where he took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. (Not-so-humble brag: I actually asked Rhys a question in the Emmys press room after his major win.) In the months since Season 1 of Widow's Bay ended, I couldn't help but notice a phenomenon, one I've since dubbed "the Matthew Rhys Pipeline Effect.
