LONDON - British actor and comedian Russell Brand anally raped a woman who had willingly gone to his house for consensual sex, ignoring her pleas for him to stop, the accuser told police in an interview played to a London court on Oct 20. Brand, once one of Britain’s most high-profile broadcasters and the former husband of US singer Katy Perry, is on trial accused of three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault against six women between 1999 and 2009. The 51-year-old denies the allegations, and told police after his arrest that he had never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity and the accusers might have re-imagined events. On Oct 20, Southwark Crown Court heard testimony from the final three accusers. In a police interview played to the court, one of the women, who said she was a massive fan of the comedian, recounted she had met Brand in 2009 after he “selected” her and a friend in the foyer to go for a drink after they had gone to one of his gigs. Later, she said she and another woman went back to his dressing room where there was a sexual encounter, but she did not have penetrative sex with him.

Sophia Stel: the greatest album of all time Album Review - Pitchfork
Last year, Stel scored a TikTok hit off her first EP, Object Permanence, with “I’ll Take It,” trying on her best Ella Yelich-O’Connor atop some Boy Harsher rave stabs. On the greatest album of all time, her voice is less affected yet further out of reach, persistently clouded by AutoTune and sometimes submerged under the beats, so only her sibilants break the surface. It’s like hearing her through an exceptional high, and the way Stel plays with scale and setting will feel familiar to anyone who’s ever K-holed or greened out: You’ll blink and find you’ve changed locations without consciously moving a muscle. The syrupy “Wedding Song” sends a piano line sauntering down the aisle, then Stel dips into a slurred, singsongy cadence, there’s a trap drop, and it’s like riding shotgun while she raps along to Barter 6 and takes hits off her vape. A puff of smoke drifts over to the following track and becomes the plume of a fog machine as “Now I’ve Got a Lot You Know” warps into a post-hyperpop jock jam.the greatest album of all time operates on an expansive, unstratified taste profile, one in which Carrie & Lowell and 2 SLIZZY 2 SEXY hold equal clout.
