Infinity Ward opened up early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's DMZ extraction mode overnight, meaning anyone who has pre-ordered a copy can now play the game's campaign as well as DMZ. And while early reactions to DMZ are fairly positive, there's one issue in particular, which a number of players have experienced, that has the capability of ending a round as soon as it begins.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – How to Get Started as an Operator in DMZ
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s new DMZ mode is here! Following the release of Campaign Early Access last week, Modern Warfare 4’s new action extraction mode is arriving early ahead of its global launch of October 23 for XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, Steam, Battle.net, and other platforms. If you’re unfamiliar, DMZ is the new extraction mode available exclusively with Modern Warfare 4 where you’ll deploy to the massive Hajin map, gather valuable resources, and extract before enemy forces eliminate your Operator. This guide will cover many of the starting basics to help get your boots on the ground and into action. Let’s get started.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Pop-Up: The DMZ Has Never Been This Much Fun
Having just returned to Oz from a review trip at Infinity Ward, I was in a pretty good position to judge how authentic (and fun) a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Pop-Up Experience could be. As luck would have it, Sydney recently hosted just such a shenanigan for press, content creators, lucky Xbox Fan Fest attendees and there were some limited slots open to the public via registrations. I infiltrated it fully. Let me bust out my Tac-map and give you a sitrep on how the organisers decided to… well, run DMZ (as in a recreation of a real Korean demilitarised zone). The result was a limited-time, MW4-themed mini-extravaganza built around a series of virtual and physical challenges. In next to no time, my objectives list was overflowing with around a dozen POIs to visit across the Carriageworks event space. Think interactive games, hands-on MW4 Campaign gameplay, photo opps and prizes for the exceptionally skilled. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would be among the exceptionally skilled. Working in my favour: I was one of only a handful of folks who’d already finished MW4 (and on its unlockable Realism difficulty, no less).
