Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany could be out ‘weeks’ after collapse - Bavarian Football Works
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has provided an update on Vincent Kompany after the head coach collapsed during a training session on Friday and was taken to the hospital. Kompany had finished overseeing the first team’s training before heading over to watch Bayern Munich II’s session. He was standing alongside second-team coach Dante when he collapsed, prompting the immediate cancellation of training and his hospitalization. Per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), the incident also led to the postponement of Bayern Munich II’s Regionalliga fixture against DJK Vilzing, originally scheduled for Saturday. Given the shock experienced by the young players who witnessed the incident, both clubs quickly agreed that postponing the match was the right decision. According to reports from Tz journalists Philipp Kessler and Mano Bonke (via @iMiaSanMia), Kompany had also spent a night in the hospital earlier in the week after experiencing health issues, although the initial examinations reportedly returned negative results. Despite recovering sufficiently to return towork, the Belgian had continued pushing himself, something that has reportedly become a concern within the club.

Rocket vs. Hammers recap: Laval claims top spot in AHL with seventh straight victory - Habs Eyes on the Prize
After a successful showing against the Syracuse Crunch, the Laval Rocket returned back to Place Bell to play their first of a back-to-back against the league’s newest team, in their former home, the Hamilton Hammers. With Owen Beck recalled, and Alex Belzile and Samuel Poulin both dealing with day-to-day injuries, Laval opted to deploy 11 forwards and seven defencemen. Up front, Filip Mešár was bumped up to the first line and Josh Nadeau returned to the lineup. In net, Kevin Mandolese got the nod for the first start in the back-to-back. As Laval started applying more pressure in the opening minutes, Hunter McKown was called for an offensive-zone holding penalty on Calle Odelius to put his side short-handed. An effective penalty kill prevented the Hammers from establishing any sustained zone time. Moments after returning to even strength, a hooking penalty for Brandon Scanlin handed Laval its first power play of the period.
