Twitch vs YouTube: Where Is Online Entertainment Heading? - Young Hollywood

YouTube has been around for what feels like forever. For years, the platform has been at the center of influencer culture, gaming trends, internet humor, and online communities to the point where it feels almost inseparable from modern internet culture itself. For generations that grew up online, YouTube has a certain nostalgia attached to it; almost everyone has had at least one favorite YouTuber at some point, and it remains the platform many people turn back to when TikTok’s endless scrolling starts to feel repetitive. Over the past few years, however, there has been a noticeable shift in online entertainment, particularly within gaming and vlog-style content. Enter Twitch, the live-streaming platform that has rapidly taken over huge areas of internet culture. While platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram all offer live-streaming features, Twitch feels fundamentally different because the entire experience is built around interaction. Unlike the more voyeuristic nature of TikTok or Instagram, where creators can largely ignore comments and continue with their content, Twitch streams rely heavily on constant communication between creator and audience.

Daft Punk Are Now Lego - Pitchfork

And so is the Alive 2007 pyramidOctober 22, 2026Courtesy of LEGO and Daft PunkWe’re probably no closer to a Daft Punk reunion five years after the duo broke up—this despite completely unfounded rumors plus a run of legacy-building post-breakup projects—but now you can at least pretend Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are playing at your house thanks to Lego’s latest collection. The Daft Punk set can be traced back to Covid lockdown, when a father and son from Luxembourg suggested the company recreate the duo’s 2007 Alive Tour pyramid stage. A rendering of that model can be found below, along with the DJ duo's official Lego minifigures. Bangalter and Homem-Christo now join the Beatles and the Spice Girls in the annals of musicians who’ve become plastic bricks. “The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,” longtime Daft Punk creative director Cédric Hervet said in a statement.
