The Dodge Viper Is Proof That An Italian Makeover Can Turn A V10 Truck Engine Into An Icon
Nigel first entered the world of automotive journalism in the mid-80s, working for what was then the “bible” of weekly automotive content - Motoring News. Those were the days of tip-tap typewriters, landline telephones and proper news cycles. Social media was yet to become a modern-day plague and people waited for their automotive news until Tuesday mornings. Nigel has remained a gearhead since the early days in London. He's enjoyed a variety of roles in marketing, PR and events with such storied brands as Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini. He has spent much of adult life in the United States, but currently resides in (a much colder) United Kingdom.

Adorable Citroën 2CV Reboot Could Spawn A Fiat Counterpart
Classic gems, tasteful customs, legendary supercars - for Silvian, they're all fair game. He's been in love with cars and motorcycles for as long as he can remember, so it made perfect sense to eventually turn that passion into a full-time writing career. Around six years and more than 3,000 articles later, he is still going strong and doesn't plan on hitting the brakes anytime soon. The new Citroën 2CV was perhaps the cutest thing unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this year, built in the same spirit as its ancestor but with an all-electric powertrain. Cosmetically, it takes several design cues from the old 2CV and updates them for the 21st century in the coolest possible way. And with a target sticker price of just €15,000 ($16,800), it could be precisely what the French automaker needs to give budget Chinese EVs a run for their money. Sensing that Citroën might be onto something here, another Stellantis subsidiary is apparently looking to take this particular page out of its rulebook. And the brand in question is Italy’s Fiat.

New York City Will Ban Carriage Horses From Central Park
New York City has been a battleground for years. No, not a battle between the deific forces of the Guardian Angels and the loathéd Antifa hordes like your grandmother's chain emails would have you believe, but a battleground over something much more serious: Whether or not horse-drawn carriages should be allowed in Central Park. Now it seems Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the New York City Council are endng the debate, by banning horse carriages from the park later this month. News sources have been crediting this final push against horse-drawn carriages to the death of a teenager back in June, but in reality the battle has gone on far longer than that. While some opponents of the carriages simply dislike the smell of horses or the proximity to animals, most find their fundamental disagreement with the practice of keeping horses in the heat, the cold, and the general unsuitability of New York City. This isn't exactly a prairie where horses can roam free, and I can't imagine it's a fulfilling life they live. It seems like City Council Speaker Julie Menin agrees with the mayor.

If Your Ford Maverick Feels Too Weak, The SV300T Package Is Coming To Fix That
Even if you get the cool Lobo version, non-hybrid examples of the Ford Maverick only make 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo-four. However, Ford now has a factory-ish solution for owners looking for more grunt out of their compact pickup: the SV300T package. As you could probably guess from the name, this lets the Maverick make more power — a sport compact-worthy 300 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Available to pre-order now and slated for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, you can apparently have the SV300T installed as an add-on kit at your local Ford dealership or, if you've yet to actually get a Maverick, installed as a package from the factory.

The Most Reliable SUV On The Road Only Has A 42% Chance Of Hitting 250,000 Miles
Gilbert Smith is an automotive journalist with over five years of specialized research and writing experience. Before joining CarBuzz in 2024, he produced in-depth buyer’s guides and feature articles for Vehicle History, focusing on practical insights and detailed automotive analysis. The most reliable SUV on the market – and the most reliable vehicle overall in terms of longevity – is theToyota Sequoia. This is according to recent rankings from iSeeCars, which sees Toyota and Lexus dominating the top 10, with the full-size family SUV at the top. For Toyota fans, this is just confirming what we already knew. But it's somewhat startling to put the numbers into perspective and see just how much more reliable the Sequoia is than its competitors.
