TIME Names Fujifilm’s $410 Retro Video Camera One of 2026’s Best Inventions - Y.M.Cinema

Fujifilm’s instax mini Evo Cinema ($378.99 on Amazon), a $410 hybrid instant camera capable of recording short video clips and producing physical prints, has been selected as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026. The camera was recognized in the Consumer Electronics category, joining 300 innovations selected by the publication this year. Interestingly, the award goes to a camera with modest video specifications but a distinctive approach to combining digital recording with the nostalgic experience of instant photography. The camera is currently available on Amazon for $378.99, an 8% discount from its $409.95 list price. Introduced in January 2026, the instax mini Evo Cinema combines three functions in one device: a digital still camera, a short-form video camera, and an instax mini printer. Its design draws inspiration from traditional 8mm movie cameras, featuring a vertical body, physical controls, and a dedicated recording mechanism. The camera’s most distinctive feature is its Gen Dial, which allows users to select visual styles inspired by ten different decades, ranging from the 1930s to the 2020s.

Tenebris Somnia: Blood, Pixels, and Prosthetics

As I’m typing this, we’re in the final hellish days before the October 16 launch of TENEBRIS SOMNIA – the retro survival horror game with live-action cutscenes – coming at you from Andrés Borghi (The Black Heart) Saibot Studios (Hellbound), and published by New Blood Interactive. (FAITH: The Unholy Trinity, DUSK, Blood West). In Tenebris Somnia you play as Julia, a young woman who is having nightmares about her ex-boyfriend being torn apart by horrible monsters. Hoping to find some peace, she goes to his apartment to check on him. What she discovers is a world of horror that descends beyond her darkest dreams. What if the nightmares are real…?

Warhammer: Boltgun 2 Is Basically A Perfect Sequel To One Of 2023’s Best Shooters

A few years back, Warhammer: Boltgun hit PC and console and won me over with its snappy combat, crunchy retro visuals, and dark humor that made it clear that the people who built the game understood the universe of W40k. And at first, Boltgun 2, out now, didn’t seem like a huge improvement over the last game. But as I’ve played more, I’ve discovered that this new sequel is bigger and better in every way. Boltgun 2 is set directly after the events of the first game, but you don’t need to have played that game to hop into this one. Long story short, you play as a tough-as-nails Space Marine who is focused on one thing: Destroying enemies of the Imperium of Man and doing it as brutally and effectively as possible. This involves a lot of shooting and explosions. Heretics tend to put up a fight. This time around, however, players can take up the fight against heretical demons and soldiers as either returning protagonist Malum Caedo or new playable character and badass Battle Sister Nyla Veyrath. Both are very deadly warriors, but they get the job done differently. Malum hits hard and moves slower.
