Xiaomi 18 Pro (Max): Slightly different global prices leak with final specs - Notebookcheck

ⓘ Witty Cat, Weibo, editedA highly reliable leaker from France has revealed the (hopefully) final euro prices and specs for the global Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. A leaker whose information has almost always been accurate in the past has now revealed what are likely the final euro prices for the four Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models in Europe, with prices apparently having changed slightly. There is also "confirmation" of the specs and colors from France. Alexander Fagot (translated by Alexander Fagot), Published 10/23/2026 🇩🇪 A few days ago, leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore shared information about the prices, specs, storage options and colors of the European Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models, but some of the details may not have been entirely accurate. Another explanation could be that euro prices will vary, with the higher prices potentially applying to countries with higher taxes, for instance Portugal. In any case, French leaker billbil-kun is now reporting slightly different euro prices and also corroborating the information on colors, model variants and specs, including the reduced battery capacities in Europe.

Left alone with nothing to do, AI agents started playing - TechCrunch

AI agents left to explore a virtual island without a specific task began inventing challenges of their own. MIT researchers say the behavior bears the hallmarks of play. The researchers put 13 AI agents called Eko, each running on Claude Opus 4.7, alone on a simulated desert island for 30 hours. They describe the experiment in a paper posted on arXiv, a site where researchers share studies before peer review. Afterward, they gave the agents specific challenges, like getting as many objects as possible onto the island’s tallest rock spire. The Eko agents that had spent those 30 hours playing generally beat identical agents that had never set foot on the island.

Shrinking iron films strengthens laser-driven demagnetization - Phys.org

From photos and videos to documents, vast amounts of data are stored on hard drives in large data centers. These devices use tiny magnetic regions whose orientation determines the information stored. But how could data be stored even faster in the future? One possible approach involves ultrashort laser pulses, which can alter the magnetic order of materials in an extremely short time. A team from Collaborative Research Center 1242 at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), working with Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, has therefore investigated how the thickness of an iron film affects its so-called ultrafast demagnetization. During this process, a laser pulse causes the material to lose part of its magnetic order within an extremely short period of time.
