Hawkins throws for 464 and Cassidy's FG with no time left lifts West Virginia over Cincinnati 45-42 - ABC News - Breaking News, Latest News and Videos
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Mike Hawkins Jr. threw for a career-high 464 yards and Jack Cassidy kicked a 35-yard field goal as time ran out to lift West Virginia to a wild 45-42 win over Cincinnati on Saturday. The teams combined for 1,220 yards of offense. It marked the fourth consecutive game for West Virginia in which the teams surpassed 1,000 yards. “It was crazy,” Hawkins said. “For the offense, we've just got to keep scoring. That's the goal every week. It doesn't matter what's going on in the game. Don't look at the scoreboard, just take it play by play. But it was an unreal game to be in.” West Virginia (4-3, 1-3 Big 12) never led until Cassidy’s winner and broke a three-game losing streak. Cincinnati (4-2, 1-2) has lost two straight, sandwiched around a bye week. Hawkins threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more scores for West Virginia. He completed 25 of 33 passes after failing to complete half of his passes in the three previous games. “How about Mike Hawkins?” said West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez.

Two Brockton brothers sentenced for staged robbery at bank where one worked
A pair of Brockton brothers were sentenced to four months in prison Monday for stealing nearly $200,000 from a credit union where one of them worked, federal prosecutors said. Jenel Flounoury, 30, and Justin Flounoury, 34, were also each sentenced to three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a joint restitution of $197,146, according to the office of Leah B. Foley, US Attorney for Massachusetts. The two pleaded guilty in July to one count of conspiracy to commit larceny from a credit union in federal court in Boston, prosecutors said in a statement. According to Foley’s office, Jenel and Justin Flounoury conspired to stage a robbery of Energy Credit Union in West Roxbury, where Jenel worked as a teller. On Sept. 24, 2024, Justin left his job in South Boston early and was driven to the credit union, the statement said. Wearing a hat, sunglasses, mask and dark clothing, Justin went to the teller window where Jenel was working and handed him a note that read “Hand it Over,” officials said.

Taylor Stogryn, 37, and Conrad Wierzbicki, 35, were charged with indignity to human remains and obstructing justice. Patriots fan celebrates 100th birthday, still has not missed a game in 57 years as a season ticket holder

Bush won’t let anything make him miss a New England Patriots game — not even being 100-years-old. He has 100 percent attendance, too, having never missed a single home game in his 57 years as a season ticket holder, according to a statement. Bush, a lifelong Turners Falls resident, was on the turf at Gillette Stadium Oct. 11, meeting New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his son Jonathan. And that was just three days after the big milestone birthday. The Pats won the game, 45-17, over the Las Vegas Raiders. The World War II Navy veteran even celebrated his 88th birthday at another game in 2014, partying in the parking lot and eating marble cake, the Globe reported. “Bush has made the trip to Foxborough for every game, through rain, sleet, hail and snow, whether kickoff is scheduled for the afternoon or late at night,” with Dave Bernard, a family friend, driving him to the games, the statement read. For Bush, sports have always been a part of his life.
