4 candidates make their case to voters in Illinois' 4th Congressional District race
BERWYN, Ill. ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch"The reality is there are four of us on the ballot and people will have a choice," Democratic candidate Patty Garcia said. Garcia, the former chief of staff to U. S. Rep. Jesús "Chuy" García, became the district's only Democratic candidate nearly a year ago. The congressman timed his retirement announcement in a way that left her as the only candidate able to file primary petitions by the deadline. Patty Garcia is not related to the congressman. In an interview with ABC7, she said voters are ultimately more concerned about their finances than the process that led to her candidacy. "Can they put food on the table. Can they pay for rent. And are they going to have a job? I'm going to fight for them. And make sure they have someone in DC who can put people over corporations and can deliver for the district," she said.
