Matt Nelson is an automotive journalist with nearly a decade of experience in all things cars.  He's spent years working at dealerships in sales, finance, and service. He's since traded in his pens and wrenches for a keyboard, and leveraged the expertise gained from his work experience into a writing career. When it comes to cars, facts, and the truth, Matt’s equal love for all three meant automotive journalism was the only path forward. Ever since the age of six, when he’d spend his time helping his father fix his family’s old Buick, Matt has had a keen interest in anything and everything with four wheels. Naturally, once Matt started working, he ensconced himself in the automotive industry and held positions spanning from car detailer, mechanic, to automotive sales and finance. Because he’s seen it all, driven most, and heard a lot, auto journalism came naturally to him. With a passion for cars like Matt’s, it’s safe to say every article will showcase his penchant for truth, accuracy, and overarching desire to make sense of the modern, complex automotive world. Range 443 Miles Seating 5 Seats Powertrain Electric Drivetrain All-Wheel Drive Limited Warranty 4 Years/50,000 Miles By Drew DorianOverview It looks a lot like the regular gasoline-powered GLC-class SUV, but the electric powertrain hiding under the sheetmetal sets the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC-class EV on an entirely different journey. We’ve had a chance to drive the new compact electric crossover, and its ride is smooth, its powertrain is perky, and its luxury experience is intact. Two models will be offered—the single-motor GLC300+ and the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive GLC400 4Matic—and both come with the same battery pack.

I Just Learned What The First Chimp In Space Did While He Was Up There, And What Was Up His Rectum

My friend and longtime collaborator Carrie McLaren, who I’ve been working with since the ’90s ‘zine boom, has a new physical ‘zine she’s writing and publishing called Ape Shit, which focuses on, you know, monkeys and apes and non-human primates, and how we humans interact with them. It’s interesting stuff, and I’m excited to help out with the next issue by writing about Ham, the first chimpanzee in space. I actually met Ham when I was a kid, at the Asheboro Zoo in North Carolina. I think he’s the only astronaut I’ve actually met? Definitely the most hirsute.

Polestar tries to quantify what it’s like to drive a performance car

Drivers had electrodes strapped to their heads as they tested EVs on track. The human desire to go fast is old, dating back at least as far as the first time some adventurous Yamnaya saw a horse on the Pontic-Caspian steppe and thought, “I bet if I jumped on that thing’s back, it would be faster than walking.”

Clarkson-Grown Flax Was Used To Build This Custom Jaguar

Jeremy Clarkson's latest project is equally interesting for automotive enthusiasts and farmers. Using sustainable materials grown on his own farm, the veteran TV presenter created a coachbuilt special based on the discontinued Jaguar F-Type, with the help of its original designer Ian Callum, who recently penned a reborn XJ220. What may be the first organic Jaguar was created for an upcoming show dubbed "Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson's Farm Special". This is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on Amazon Prime and will air globally. As you may have guessed from the title, the materials used for the conversion were cultivated on Clarkson's 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm located in Oxfordshire, U. K. The donor vehicle is a pre-facelifted Jaguar F-Type with the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 380 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. The mechanicals of the RWD roadster were carried over, but its exterior and the interior went through a radical transformation.

This New C8 Corvette Is Rarer Than A ZR1X, But You Can't Buy It In America

It's hard to think of anything the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X doesn't have going for it. Rocking a monstrous twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8, an electric motor, and all-wheel drive, it puts far more expensive European hypercars on notice. However, production isn't limited, so it can't match the rarity and exclusivity of its exotic competitors. If you want a really rare C8 Corvette, you'll need to go to Japan. Chevy has just launched a special version of the C8 in Japan, badged the Corvette V8 Tourer, and based on the standard Stingray model. Capped at just 15 units, it makes a Corvette ZR1X seem certifiably common. Local prices start at ¥21,500,000, or $135,600 at current exchange rates, roughly the same as a well-equipped Grand Sport X in the U. S. It's also about ¥1,900,000 ($12,000 USD) more than a normal Stingray.
