No V12 Required: Argentina's Mid-Engine Supercar Packs An American V8 Punch - CarBuzz

Classic gems, tasteful customs, legendary supercars - for Silvian, they're all fair game. He's been in love with cars and motorcycles for as long as he can remember, so it made perfect sense to eventually turn that passion into a full-time writing career. Around six years and more than 3,000 articles later, he is still going strong and doesn't plan on hitting the brakes anytime soon. Argentina is a country known for its natural beauty, soccer legends, and chainsaw-wielding president, but it probably isn’t the first place you’d expect a rad V8 supercar to be developed. However, that assumption might change once you learn about a company called Valtor, the brainchild of engineer-turned-CEO Sergio Arias. He leads a small but ambitious team of designers and engineers like himself, who’d previously caught people’s attention with the Azor GT concept last year. Now they’re back at it once again with the Eaglon, an evolution of the Azor and something that could easily be mistaken for a Ferrari by those who don’t know their automotive lore.

Debra Wilson Also Confused On Why Games Keep Using Her Likeness

While I had always assumed it was the result of an airtight contract or a talent rep sent from heaven, it turns out Debra Wilson doesn’t have a firm explanation as to why so many of her in-game performances feature her real-world likeness. During a podcast appearance, the prolific Wolfenstein, Wolverine, Suicide Squad, Star Wars Jedi and Death Stranding voice actor said the decision usually comes down to the developers. “Honestly, I love games where they don’t look like me at all,” Wilson tells podcaster Joseph Shepherd. “I might as well just go and do theater… If it just looks like me, then how do you get a chance to really escape into a character?” While the episode of Hyperfixated was recorded before the release of Marvel’s Wolverine, the clip has recirculated, admittedly by some in bad faith. The MADtv star has been contributing vocal performances in games for decades, but it’s in recent history that a number of those digital roles share her uncanny appearance.

Severe Right Ventricular Dilation Due to Selenium Deficiency in a Patient After Gastric Bypass - Cureus

Selenium deficiency is a rare but reversible cause of cardiomyopathy increasingly recognized as a late nutritional complication of bariatric surgery, yet it is not consistently included in routine postoperative surveillance. This report describes a 40-year-old woman who presented three years after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) with progressive dyspnea, weakness, lower extremity edema, and dizziness in the setting of nonadherence to postoperative nutritional supplementation. She was hypotensive and bradycardic with jugular venous distension, elevated B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), and chest imaging showing cardiomegaly with a right-sided pleural effusion. Echocardiography revealed severe, isolated right ventricular and atrial dilation with reduced right-sided systolic function, and further evaluation identified a markedly low serum selenium level (25 µg/L) with normal thyroid function and other trace elements. She was treated with intravenous selenium repletion (150 µg/day) alongside inotropic and diuretic support, with rapid hemodynamic improvement and complete resolution of right ventricular and atrial dilation on repeat echocardiography within one week. This case illustrates

Association Between Myasthenia Gravis and Sarcoidosis: A Case Report - Cureus

Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown cause. Its association with myasthenia gravis has mainly been documented in isolated case reports and small series. We report double-seronegative myasthenia gravis for the antibodies tested, associated with stage I thoracic sarcoidosis and thymic hyperplasia without thymoma. A 46-year-old woman was hospitalized in November 2021 for grade 3 exertional dyspnea according to the modified Medical Research Council scale, associated with fluctuating left-sided ptosis that worsened toward the end of the day. The neostigmine test was positive, with transient improvement in the ptosis. Low-frequency repetitive nerve stimulation demonstrated a decrement compatible with a postsynaptic neuromuscular transmission disorder. Antibodies against the acetylcholine receptor and anti-MuSK antibodies were negative, leading to the diagnosis of double-seronegative myasthenia gravis for the antibodies tested. At the same time, thoracic imaging showed multiple bilateral mediastinal and hilar lymphadenopathies without pulmonary parenchymal involvement. Mediastinoscopy with lymph node biopsy revealed non-necrotizing epithelioid and giant-cell granulom

Magnitude of Thyroid Disorders in Patients with Abnormal Uterine Bleeding - Cureus

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common gynaecological complaint, and thyroid dysfunction may contribute to menstrual abnormalities. This study evaluated the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction among women presenting with AUB and its association with clinical characteristics. Methods: This observational study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru, India, from January 2020 to June 2021. It included 100 women with AUB. Demographic and clinical data, such as age, parity, body mass index (BMI), type and duration of AUB, thyroid status, family history, and goitre and thyroid-related symptoms, were documented. Thyroid function tests were used to group the participants into the following categories: euthyroid, subclinical, hypothyroid, and hyperthyroid. Results: The mean age was 34.85 ± 8.29 years, and the mean BMI was 24.74 ± 3.36 kg/m². Thyroid dysfunction was found to be present in 20% of the participants. Heavy menstrual bleeding was the most common AUB pattern (40%), which was not significantly associated with thyroid status (p = 0.398). Significant associations were observed between thyroid st

Game developers cancel upcoming public demo out of fear of AI copycats - Mashable

There's currently some tension between the video game industry and the proliferation of AI tools. You can see the evidence of this in a recent development regarding the upcoming indie game Drunken Goddess Reflux. It's a game with the objective of imbibing alcohol until a demon vomits up her soul, a decidedly unique premise that would be hard for any AI to come up with. As spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, though, the developers had to cancel an upcoming public demo session. The decision is partly due to concerns that AI could quickly clone it for someone else's financial benefit. Instead, they will hold closed sessions for a "limited number of participants. "

Nightjars generate thrust during wing upstroke — ScienceDaily - UA.NEWS

Scientists at Lund University have found that the European nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus) combines long seasonal migrations between Europe and southern Africa with hunting insects in slow, maneuverable flight. The study showed that this versatility comes at an aerodynamic cost: at high speeds, the bird’s wings generate lift less efficiently. As ScienceDaily reports, researchers studied nightjar flight in a wind tunnel. They recorded the birds’ movements at different speeds and measured the airflows left behind the wings. Maneuverability instead of speedThe experiments showed that broad wingtips likely help nightjars maneuver during slow flight and catch insects. At higher speeds, however, they become a disadvantage, as the wings generate lift less efficiently. More current news is available on the UA. News Telegram channel Telegram. This contradicts the notion that birds capable of covering long distances should be optimally adapted specifically for efficient flight at high speeds. The authors view the nightjar’s wings as an evolutionary trade-off between long-distance migration, slow flight, and sharp turns while hunting.

Canucks: D Elias Pettersson’s impressive start is more than just passing the eye test - Canucks Army

Canucks: D Elias Pettersson’s impressive start is more than just passing the eye testAmid the Vancouver Canucks‘ six-game losing streak, there haven’t been many individual positives to come from it. Of course, Finnish netminder Leevi Meriläinen has kept the Canucks in games; the top line of Jake DeBrusk, Elias Pettersson, and Jonathan Lekkerimäki has carried the team’s offence, but the biggest story may be the emergence of defenceman Elias Pettersson. Starting the season on the Canucks’ third pair and hovering between 14-17 minutes per game, Pettersson has earned the trust of new head coach Manny Malhotra. Pair that with the early-season struggles from Zeev Buium, and Pettersson now finds himself on the top pairing with Filip Hronek. But how did we get here? Well, we started to see something change in his game in Game 4 against the Vegas Golden Knights. In typical D-Petey fashion, he continued to play through contact and excelled doing so. He bought himself extra time in his defensive zone decision-making by using his frame to his advantage.

Neuropathic Pain-Like Features in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis and Spondyloarthritis Receiving Targeted Therapies: Prevalence and Associated Factors - Cureus

Persistent pain despite targeted therapy remains a major challenge in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA), and neuropathic pain-like features may contribute to this residual pain. We conducted a cross-sectional study including 155 patients receiving biologic or targeted synthetic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs or tsDMARDs; 78 RA and 77 SpA) to determine the prevalence of neuropathic pain-like features and identify associated clinical factors. Neuropathic pain-like features were screened using the Douleur Neuropathique 4 (DN4) and painDETECT questionnaires. Univariable logistic regression analyses were performed separately for each disease group, followed by parsimonious multivariable models including functional impairment, disease activity, and current pain intensity. Neuropathic pain-like features (DN4 ≥4) were identified in 19 (24.4%) patients with RA and 21 (27.3%) patients with SpA, with no statistically significant between-group difference (p = 0.679). Although median painDETECT scores were significantly higher in SpA, the distribution of painDETECT categories did not differ significantly between the two groups. In univariable an

Why Apple TV Didn't Want To Cast Hannah Waddingham In Ted Lasso - TVLine

It's hard to imagine Rebecca Welton being played by anyone other than Hannah Waddingham in "Ted Lasso," but Apple TV originally didn't want to cast the British star when it was developing the Jason Sudeikis-led sports comedy in 2019. Instead, it wanted a major star to play the formidable owner of AFC Richmond, and, at the time, Waddingham didn't hold enough star power to immediately convince the streamer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Before "Ted Lasso," Waddingham's best TV roles included the likes of Syfy's "Krypton" and Netflix's "Sex Education. " Of course, she also played the terrifying "Game of Thrones" villain, Septa Unella. She's the "Shame Nun" who torments Cersei Lannister and forces her to march naked through King's Landing in the HBO series.
