Meta is expanding its AI agent Muse to small businesses - TechCrunch
Meta announced on Tuesday that it’s expanding its AI agent Muse to small businesses and adding new integrations, including Shopify, Dropbox, Slack, and more. The tech giant says the agent can help owners run their business and find new customers. By plugging Muse into the software that small business owners are already using to manage sales, operations, and marketing, Meta is betting that an AI agent with context of a company’s whole operation will be more useful than a stand-alone chatbot, as it continues to compete against rivals like OpenAI and Google.

Small Business Owner: I Took My 50 Employees on a Free Trip to Greece - Business Insider
Bashir Chedrawee took his employees on a trip of a lifetime to Greece. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Bashir Chedrawee, owner and CEO of Simone's Kitchen, a Mediterranean eatery with three locations in New York state. It has been edited for length and clarity. I started Simone's Kitchen with my mother in 2018. As a Mediterranean-inspired eatery, we draw inspiration from countries across the Mediterranean basin, from Greece to Lebanon to Morocco, even Italy. We had done company outings before in the US, such as going to a lakefront beach or renting out an entertainment center. However, going to a part of the world that we engage with on a daily basis, but most of us had never actually been to, was an experience that made sense. So, in February this year, I told everyone at a business meeting that we were going to take the entire team to Greece for a week. In total, there were 73 of us, including plus ones. Flights, transportation, accommodation, some group activities, and certain meals were paid for by the company, costing over $2,000 per person.

A 2018 study titled The Scully Effect: I Want to Believe in STEM surveyed 2,021 people and found that 63% of women familiar with Dana Scully said she increased their confidence to succeed in a male-dominated STEM profession. The findings give the X-Files character a measurable legacy beyond the screen. Dana Scully brought a medical doctor’s training and a forensic pathologist’s eye to her FBI work alongside Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson played her through nine original seasons of The X-Files, two films and two revival seasons. Viewers had years to get to know Scully through the way she approached her work.

This surprising factor could reveal how compatible you and your partner really are, says science - BBC Science Focus Magazine
How do you know you have found The One? Simple: they share your love of the Backstreet Boys or obscure Brazilian bossa nova. At least, that’s the conclusion of one new study. Scientists found that couples in romantic relationships share a taste in music more than they do personality traits and values. Their research also suggests that a common appreciation of the same music may even be associated with slightly better relationship quality.

Review: Shifting Ground Collective’s ‘Amélie’ is a fun but not entirely satisfying journey through her whimsical world - NEXT Magazine
What: Amélie Where: Native Earth’s Aki Studio, 585 Dundas St. E. When: Now, until Sat., Oct. 10 Highlight: Cameos from Elton John and a garden gnome Rating: NNN (out of 5) Why you should go: To be transported to a fantastical, colourful and musical ParisI was first introduced to the bizarre world of Amélie through my French culture class in high school. Though the 2001 film festival darling became an international hit, it unsurprisingly was not as popular with bored 16-year-olds who perhaps didn’t speak enough French to understand the finer points. I, however, appreciated the weird girl with an iconic bob twirling through Parisian life, touching others’ lives along the way. The film’s unusual visual effects charm the audience, pulling them into Amélie’s reality. Though it seems as if this is the perfect candidate for musical transformation — and in many ways it is — some of that charm remains stuck in the cinema. Speaking of indie darlings, Shifting Ground Collective begins its 2026-27 season with a new production of Amélie’s 2017 musical stage adaptation, directed by Catie Thorne.
