Christopher Abbott explains why the reaction to his “X-Men” casting was ‘a dream and a nightmare’ - Yahoo

Key PointsChristopher Abbott isn't so sure people are down for his X-Men casting. The actor said the reaction from fans has been "a bit of a dream and a nightmare. "Abbott will play Professor X in Marvel's new mutant era. Christopher Abbott is not sure if X-Men fans are excited about his casting in the new mutant era. The actor, who's appeared in Girls, Catch-22, and the soon-to-be-released East of Eden, told New York Magazine that playing Professor Xavier in Marvel's new X-Men iteration is "a bit of a dream and a nightmare. "While discussing the cast reveal at Disney's D23 expo in August, Abbott said his mood quickly went from excitement to dread once he noticed the crowd's tepid reaction. "I think I started walking out pretty enthusiastically, and then I kind of felt like a lot of people there didn't know who I was, so then my energy shifted within the split second," Abbott told the mag. "I was a little bit more humble about it. "Abbott said, in his head, he felt like doing "a fist bump," but when he arrived on stage at the Anaheim Convention Center, "The applause was muted. ""I was like, 'I'm just going to walk out and nod,'" he explained, laughing.

Buying or selling 3-0 NFL teams: Which teams are Super Bowl contenders and which are pretenders? - CBS Sports

Like leaves falling off trees, the NFL's undefeated teams are quickly withering away. Only eight teams managed to avoid their first loss after the season's first two weeks. That number shrank to five teams in Week 3 after the Seahawks, Bengals, and Eagles suffered their first setbacks of the 2026 season. The Bills, Chiefs, Raiders, Vikings and 49ers still have a chance to match the 1972 Dolphins and 2007 Patriots as the only teams to win every regular-season game. Based on their first three games and what lies ahead, we've identified which 3-0 teams are contenders and which will struggle to continue at their current pace. Buying  In some ways, the Bills' win over the Chargers this past Sunday was just as impressive as their first two wins. Buffalo managed to beat a desperate Chargers team (still in search of their first win) despite coughing up the ball 5 times. Buffalo's defense played well while holding Los Angeles to just 16 points.

Heart in a box. Canadian-first technology opens new possibilities for lifesaving transplants. - www.hospitalnews.com

In a transplant first for a Canadian recipient, the provincially shared Transmedics Organ Care System kept a donor heart beating outside of the body, helping to expand transplant possibilities for London Health Sciences Centre patient, Raj Mittal. The heart transplant team from London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) completed a cardiac transplant using the Transmedics Organ Care System (OCS) organ care system, often referred to as a “heart in a box”, to implant a donor heart that may otherwise may not have been available for transplant.

Butterfly wings create dazzling optical illusions - Popular Science

Different color palettes were used to study the wings of roughly 400 butterfly species, including the European swallowtail butterfly. Rabbits and doves are the animals most associated with human magicians, but butterflies may be the real magicians of the animal kingdom. The insects harness the power of optical illusions to avoid predators, according to a study published today in the journal Nature. Their flight and wing pattern work together to create optical illusions that scramble a bird or other predator’s sense of speed and direction. This confusion makes the predators misdirect their attacks.

What "Clean" Really Means in Sports Nutrition Ingredients and Manufacturing - Nutritional Outlook

A panel at The Outlook on Active Nutrition discussed quality in sports nutrition focused on testing, liability, and what buyers now expect from suppliers. "Clean" is a term commonly used in active nutrition, but panelists at The Outlook on Active Nutrition argued for different standards. Marc Lobliner, president of Ketone Labs and goBHB, and Karen Hecht, PhD, vice president of sciences at AstaReal Inc., said the term is vague and that what matters more is whether a product's label can be verified through banned substance testing, clinical substantiation that matches the commercial product, and supply chain accountability, and that brands and ingredient suppliers who invest in these are being rewarded by consumers willing to pay for peace of mind. What Does “Clean” Actually Mean? Lobliner was blunt. "Clean doesn't really mean anything," he said, noting that the term shifts with each consumer's views on dyes, sweeteners, and flavors, for example. His working definition: "When I look at clean, I want to know that what's on the label is in that product. "Hecht agreed that "clean is a marketing term. It's not a legal term.
