Oilers injury update: Dickinson leaves morning skate early, status in doubt vs. MammothJason Dickinson limped off the ice during the Edmonton Oilers’ morning skate on Thursday. The Oilers veteran centre has played three games so far this season, with one assist, but his minutes are still sheltered compared to a year ago. He is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered at the tail end of 2025-26. His status is up in the air for tonight’s game against the Utah Mammoth. Dickinson leaving midway through morning skate has his status for tonight up in the air. Ankles can get tweaked, and he was in discomfort leaving the ice. But that could be short-term, and he'll be fine, or he might have aggravated something again. At training camp, Dickinson suffered a setback that forced him to miss the first few Oilers games. Upon his return, he revealed on Oct. 5 that he never fully recovered over the summer. “If I’m being totally honest, I never quite got to 100 percent over the summer,” he said. “I was making jumps, but it felt like every jump I made, I would plateau for a couple of weeks.

TSN’s Hockey Insiders with the latest on the Jets and Connor Hellebuyck, Chris Tanev’s injury status, why a Josh Anderson extension is more likely than the UFA market, the Alex DeBrincat extension, Vegas’ non-sellout streak continuing and Landon DuPont’s start to the NCAA season. James Duthie: Your insiders tonight, Chris Johnston and Darren Dreger. One of the stories of the season so far, the fact that the Jets enter Thursday 4-1-1 without Connor Hellebuyck, and suddenly there are these little whispers out there that Hellebuyck could possibly return. Is that feasible, Dregs? Darren Dreger: Well, I mean, it’s a developing story, just the file of Connor Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets because he has not yet been traded. I understand the media speculation around this suggesting that perhaps Hellebuyck wants to return to the Jets because he’s literally hemorrhaging money to this point early in the regular season. That is not the focus of Kevin Cheveldayoff. The Jets are still focused on trying to trade Connor Hellebuyck. Their good start allows them to be patient. Their good goaltending is Stu Skinner, and Clay Stevenson kind of makes this story a sidebar, but it’s still out there.

In 66 games with the Canucks last season, Raty scored four goals with 10 assists. A second-round pick (52nd overall) by the New York Islanders in 2021, Raty was dealt to Vancouver in January of 2023 along with forward Anthony Beauvillier and a conditional draft pick in exchange for Bo Horvat. He helped the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks capture the Calder Cup in 2025. In 118 career NHL games, Raty has scored 14 goals with 29 points, split between the Islanders and Canucks.
