007 First Light On Switch 2 Includes Something No Other Platform Gets, And It’s Ridiculous

IO Interactive has announced the release date for 007 First Light's long-delayed Switch 2 version--March 18, 2027--and that's not all. People who preorder the game for Switch 2 are getting something no other platform has: a ridiculously oversized tie. Not just any ridiculously oversized tie, however. People who preorder First Light for Switch 2 get the GoldenEye Suit, and it includes the suit and tie that Pierce Brosnan wore in the famous 1995 movie, including the oversized tie. Brosnan wore a lot of suits in that movie, but the one being referenced here is the one with the oversized tie, which was the style at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONqZeuZtbVE GoldenEye has a special history with Nintendo specifically, which may help explain why Switch 2 owners are getting this outfit and no one else is. After all, 1997's GoldenEye 007, which was based on the movie, is one of the most iconic N64 games of all time. First Light has been a big hit, critically and commercially, scoring great reviews and selling more than 4 million copies , and that's before the Switch 2 version even comes out. The Switch 2 version of First Light was supposed to launch alongside the other versions i

After almost three years of early access, Enshrouded has hit 1.0 with a complete story, bigger map, and way too much more to mention

The increasing number of early access games always throws me off, because one day you're seeing an announcement of a game releasing, and then a while (normally years) later, you see another announcement for said game releasing. Feels like I'm in a constant Groundhog Day situation, probably not good for my sense of the passage of time. Anyway! Existentialism aside, after launching into early access almost three years ago, Enshrouded is now out in 1.0. Lots to get through with this release! For starters, the map is now completely finished, meaning you can explore all of what Emberval has to offer, with the main quest directing you towards the locales you won't have visited yet. Speaking of the story, that's all wrapped up too, "for now," anyway, so say developer Keen Games GmBH in the update's changelog (no word on when you can expect to see future story updates, but it certainly sounds like they're coming).

Quarantine Zone’s Miami Zero DLC is the Perfect Excuse to Return to the Smash Hit Zombie Checkpoint Simulator

Earlier this year, zombie checkpoint simulator Quarantine Zone took the world by storm. Millions of you stepped up to protect this undead-ravaged outpost at the end of the world, screening survivors, weeding out the infected, and uncovering the mystery of the outbreak. But it’s been a while, right? You’ve probably moved on, hung up your scanner, and forgotten all about Georgie and all the other brave souls protecting the last remnants of humanity. But it’s time to go back. Way back. Miami Zero is a massive free expansion that transports you to the sun-soaked (and frequently rain-soaked) streets of Miami, back to when the virus was first unleashed on the world. This was ground zero for the outbreak and in this DLC you’ll find yourself right in the thick of it, screening desperate survivors, identifying symptoms, and making tough calls about who lives and who dies. The fate of the world rests on your shoulders, and your scanner, but hey – at least the sun is shining!

Japanese Charts: Kingdom Hearts Collection Grabs The Top Spot, Despite A Slow Start

Image: Square EnixFamitsu has shared the latest look at the Japanese physical gaming charts, and there's another newbie on the podium. Despite not even reaching the podium in the UK, Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] nabbed the top spot in Japan, with just 23,411 units to its name. Not all that many sales for a debut, but it was a pretty quiet week out there, with Rhythm Heaven Groove landing in second and last week's champ, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve flying into third.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse review - inspired by great ideas, but doomed by questionable execution

Ambitious, aggressive, and accomplished, Belmont's Curse whips out some of the best Castlevania highs you can experience - but technical issues and some awkward controls means it can all end in bloody tears if you're not careful. In my office, I have a collage of Ordnance Survey maps plastered across my wall. They're from places I've lived - Derbyshire, East London, Bournemouth, Bristol - with cycle routes, country roads, and parks highlighted and circled. It's an atlas of my experiences, a living memoir of the places I've been and the things I've seen. There's magic in a map, its ability to remind you of the paths you've trodden and where you've yet to go.

The Switch 2 version of 007 First Light will be released 18th March, 2027, IO Interactive has announced. The game had originally been expected this summer but IOI announced a delay to an unspecific date in March roughly a month ago. "Since announcing additional development time to ensure the quality of experience players expect, IO Interactive has brought hands-on builds of 007 First Light to both gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, where players and press had their first opportunity to experience Bond's world running on Nintendo's hardware," the company said in a press release statement.

Epic says its new vibe-coded Epic Games Launcher is faster than Steam

Nearly eight years after Epic took on Steam with its own Game Store and launcher, the Fortnite maker is deploying a new tool to give it an edge over Valve: vibe coding. In announcing the new publicly available “Preview” build of its Epic Games Launcher, Epic writes that “programming is hard. So, instead of doing that, we vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher that’s way faster and more responsive than the current one, and has a new look.” And while that might sound a little tongue-in-cheek, Epic Games Store General Manager and VP Martin Keely told PC Gamer that the team “started from scratch” and used AI as “a tool to write and review new features and new capabilities from the ground up in a different tech stack than what we had previously.” The goal, Keely said, was to “look at functionality that existed [in the current Epic Games Launcher] and [say] we want to replicate that, but not the code itself.”
