For years, Voicemod has given people a way to change their voices online, which they’ve done for any number of benign reasons — for game players with feminine-pitched voices to avoid harassment, for those with damaged vocal cords to simulate their former voices, for anonymity or even just for fun. Now the company has a new product to bring its voice-changing tech on the go in a physical device that magnetically clips on the back of phones.
The Voicemod Key Pocket, available to preorder now for $130, is a small soundboard about the size of a magnetic battery and serves as a controller interface for the company’s voice-changing apps. The half-dozen buttons on the back of the device can be used to switch between voices or audio effects while streaming or playing games, while the wheel adjusts volume of the projected voice.

25-year-old Israeli founder sells stealth AI startup for up to $35 million without raising capital - CTech
Hex-Rays, the Belgian developer of reverse-engineering tool IDA Pro, is acquiring Ventris one year after its founding. The six-person startup, built by Elon Gliksberg without outside funding, develops an operating system for AI agents conducting security research.11:30, 18.10.26 Hex-Rays, the Belgian developer of the reverse-engineering tool IDA Pro, is acquiring Israeli startup Ventris in a deal valued at $30 million to $35 million. Founded in 2025 by 25-year-old Elon Gliksberg, Ventris has remained in stealth while developing an operating system for AI agents designed to conduct security research. The six-person company did not raise outside capital, and Hex-Rays plans to invest in expanding its operations in Israel. Gliksberg began programming and exploring cybersecurity in middle school, when he wrote cheats for video games. In high school, he developed several applications used by classmates, including an Uber-style app that allowed students to coordinate rides after obtaining their driver's licenses. He later served in several roles in Israel's Unit 8200, where he led projects.

ConnectWise Credential Compromise Enables Unauthorized Access to 173 Microsoft 365 Tenants: Cybersecurity Incident Analysis - Rescana
Executive SummaryOn October 13, 2026, unauthorized access was detected across 173 Microsoft 365 tenants via a compromised ConnectWise service account credential. The attackers exploited delegated admin privileges, enabling broad access to sensitive data including mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and directory information. The incident did not involve a software vulnerability in ConnectWise but rather the theft or exposure of a legitimate credential. Affected organizations span managed service providers (MSPs), law firms, national security and trade entities, and critical infrastructure sectors. The attack leveraged only legitimate credentials and native Microsoft 365 administration tools, making detection challenging. Immediate remediation steps included disabling the compromised credential and revoking admin privileges. No malware was identified, and no specific threat actor attribution has been made. All findings are based on evidence from The Hacker News (Oct 17, 2026), Huntress (Oct 16-17, 2026), and the official ConnectWise Trust Center advisory (Oct 16-18, 2026).

OpenAI’s API Only Partly Matched ChatGPT’s Citations, Paper Finds - Search Engine Journal
Google search results and OpenAI’s Responses API together found 26.2% of the pages ChatGPT cited in a preprint’s tests of the GPT-5.5 Instant setting. They found 48.7% of the sites behind those citations. Figures in this paper were posted on Oct. 11 by researchers at the National University of Singapore and Xi’an Jiaotong University. It included four versions of ChatGPT, from GPT-5.2 Instant to GPT-5.5 Instant, along with the majority of data collection from March 29 through July 29, 2026. The two stand-ins were able to be queried without having to open ChatGPT; the researchers compared both stand-ins’ results for similarity to the pages cited by ChatGPT’s web app.

Nigel first entered the world of automotive journalism in the mid-80s, working for what was then the “bible” of weekly automotive content - Motoring News. Those were the days of tip-tap typewriters, landline telephones and proper news cycles. Social media was yet to become a modern-day plague and people waited for their automotive news until Tuesday mornings. Nigel has remained a gearhead since the early days in London. He's enjoyed a variety of roles in marketing, PR and events with such storied brands as Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini. He has spent much of adult life in the United States, but currently resides in (a much colder) United Kingdom.

China unveils first 100,000-card AI supercluster hardware, showcases 10 frontier research applications - Global Times
Visitors tour the exhibition hall of Sugon 8000, China's first fully homegrown 100,000-card AI supercluster, at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on July 20, 2026. Photo: VCGThe physical system of China's first artificial intelligence (AI) supercluster capable of supporting over 100,000 domestically developed computing cards, also known as Sugon 8000, debuted at the ongoing China National Annual Conference on High Performance Computing, CCTV News reported on Sunday. A 100,000-card cluster means interconnecting 100,000 AI accelerator cards at high speed. But scale is not its most impressive feature. Sugon 8000 is a computing system built explicitly around the native convergence of supercomputing and intelligent computing within a unified architecture. It can run both the highest-precision scientific computing and large model training and inference, according to CCTV News. The system marks a step toward scaling AI infrastructure construction is from the 10,000-card level to 100,000-card deployment.
