Next-generation total-body PET scanner can produce diagnostic-quality images in as little as 1 minute - Medical Xpress
A next-generation total-body PET/CT scanner can produce diagnostic-quality images in as little as 1 minute of scanning, according to research presented today at the 39th Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM'26). Even its fastest images were rated more highly on average than those from a standard PET/CT scanner. PET/CT is widely used to diagnose, stage and monitor cancer. Conventional PET/CT scanners have a short axial field of view, meaning they image the body section by section, typically requiring five to six 'bed positions' to cover the body from head to thigh. Long-axial field-of-view (LA-FOV) systems capture a much larger part of the body at once and detect more of the signal emitted by the radiotracer, raising the possibility of much shorter scans without sacrificing image quality.

ConnectWise Credential Compromise Enables Unauthorized Access to 173 Microsoft 365 Tenants: Cybersecurity Incident Analysis - Rescana
Executive SummaryOn October 13, 2026, unauthorized access was detected across 173 Microsoft 365 tenants via a compromised ConnectWise service account credential. The attackers exploited delegated admin privileges, enabling broad access to sensitive data including mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and directory information. The incident did not involve a software vulnerability in ConnectWise but rather the theft or exposure of a legitimate credential. Affected organizations span managed service providers (MSPs), law firms, national security and trade entities, and critical infrastructure sectors. The attack leveraged only legitimate credentials and native Microsoft 365 administration tools, making detection challenging. Immediate remediation steps included disabling the compromised credential and revoking admin privileges. No malware was identified, and no specific threat actor attribution has been made. All findings are based on evidence from The Hacker News (Oct 17, 2026), Huntress (Oct 16-17, 2026), and the official ConnectWise Trust Center advisory (Oct 16-18, 2026).

OpenAI’s API Only Partly Matched ChatGPT’s Citations, Paper Finds - Search Engine Journal
Google search results and OpenAI’s Responses API together found 26.2% of the pages ChatGPT cited in a preprint’s tests of the GPT-5.5 Instant setting. They found 48.7% of the sites behind those citations. Figures in this paper were posted on Oct. 11 by researchers at the National University of Singapore and Xi’an Jiaotong University. It included four versions of ChatGPT, from GPT-5.2 Instant to GPT-5.5 Instant, along with the majority of data collection from March 29 through July 29, 2026. The two stand-ins were able to be queried without having to open ChatGPT; the researchers compared both stand-ins’ results for similarity to the pages cited by ChatGPT’s web app.
