Trump turns on Zelenskyy as Ukraine launches massive strikes on Russia | DW News

Description

Ukraine has launched one of its largest drone attacks on Russia, hitting oil facilities and other infrastructure in and around St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putin's hometown. The strikes come as US President Donald Trump accuses Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of not wanting to end the war. Trump has warned Ukraine against attacking Russian oil infrastructure, arguing that the strikes are driving up global diesel prices. He has also defended his decision to waive new sanctions against Moscow, saying he wants to keep Russia at the negotiating table. But is Trump's strategy putting pressure on Putin or rewarding him? Andrew D'Anieri, Associate Director at the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, tells DW News that Ukraine's attacks are part of a sustained campaign to weaken Russia's oil revenues and its ability to finance the war. #ukraine #russia #stpetersburg #putin #zelenskyy #trump #dwnews 00:00 Ukraine launches massive drone strike on Russia 02:14 Why Kyiv is defying Trump on Russian oil targets 05:41 Is Washington shifting away from Ukraine? 07:52 What happens if US support declines? 09:08 Can Ukraine’s strikes really hurt Russia? 11:05 Why St. Petersburg became a key target 13:14 Could Russians turn against the war? 14:31 Ukraine’s strategy of bringing the war home For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dwnews ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews ►Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/DWNews/ Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutschewelleenglish?sub_confirmation=1
