At least 13 dead in India after speeding truck ploughs into temple devotees

Description

A speeding truck in India killed at least 13 people, including six children, when it ploughed into a crowd at a Hindu festival, officials said on Sunday (Oct 18). The heavily loaded truck reportedly lost control in the early hours of Sunday and hit devotees gathered at a temple in Gwalior, in the central state of Madhya Pradesh. The driver told police he'd lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure, but forensic experts are examining whether it was mechanical failure or negligence. https://cna.asia/4jXTfhO Subscribe to our channel here: https://cna.asia/youtubesub Visit our website: https://cna.asia Download our app: https://cna.asia/app Get our editors' picks of stories via chat apps: Telegram: https://cna.asia/telegram WhatsApp: https://cna.asia/whatsapp Follow us on these platforms: https://www.facebook.com/channelnewsasia https://www.instagram.com/channelnewsasia https://www.tiktok.com/@channelnewsasia
