Introducing: Oris Sharpens the ProPilot Calibre 111 - Monochrome Watches

Oris is busy refining its core collections, and last year it updated the ProPilot Date series. Now, the Hölstein-based brand applies the same touches to the ProPilot Calibre 111, one of its distinctive models. First introduced in the mid-2010s, this watch stands apart from the more accessible ProPilot Date series with its manually wound manufacture movement. The new version is a refresh that aligns the design with the collection’s latest developments. The stainless steel case of the 2026 ProPilot Calibre 111 measures 43mm in diameter (1mm less compared with the earlier ProPilot Calibre 111), 13.2mm thick, and 51mm lug-to-lug. The bezel, with angled fluting inspired by the turbines, remains a characteristic element, alongside the oversized screw-down crown. The domed sapphire crystal features an anti-reflective coating on the inside. A screwed stainless steel caseback with a sapphire window reveals the movement. Water resistance remains 100m.

The “Horizontal” French Manicure Is About Be Everywhere—Celebs Are Already On Board - Vogue

When it comes to nails, many of us are creatures of habit. Every two weeks, I head to my appointment where my manicurist, knowing the drill, asks: “Your usual micro French?” This week, though, I’m about to surprise her by switching things up. Inspired by stars like Sienna Spiro and Cynthia Erivo, I’m trying “horizontal” French tips.@nailsbymeiNot to be confused with the “deep” French tip, which is similarly chunky and ’90s-inspired but traces a subtle curve, horizontal French tips are painted straight across the nail for a sharper, more graphic finish. New York-based nail artist Mei Kawajiri, aka Nails by Mei, took to Instagram this week to share her latest work on singer Sienna Spiro: a set of horizontal gold chrome French tips, further enhanced with gems at the base of each nail. Nail artist Lizzy Trow (@_citre on Instagram) has been creating plenty of these looks for clients recently, and believes the go-big-or-go-home manicure is trending because it gives the classic French a bold, retro spin. “It’s such an interesting take on the classic French manicure because of how the line goes straight across rather than following the nail curve,” says Trow.

Owen Whaley Climbs American Test-Piece Problem - Gripped Climbing Magazine

Owen Whaley has repeated Creature From the Black Lagoon V16 in Upper Chaos, Colorado. The send of Daniel Woods’s 2016 testpiece adds to Whaley’s list of hard sends, which already includes two V16s: Sosa and Grand Illusion. Whaley first visited Colorado in July for some alpine bouldering, and discovered that Creature From the Black Lagoon “was great to climb on in the summer,” as Whaley said on 8a.nu, “because the holds aren’t that sharp.”

Shimano Deore Review: Why Pay More? - BIKEPACKING.com

Electronic drivetrains dominated the headlines a few years ago, but resistance to new technology and ever-increasing prices have driven demand for simple, effective mechanical groupsets. Neil spent a rigorous test period with Shimano’s new Deore system to see whether it can really compete with other modern groupsets. Find his full video and written reviews below… In June of this year, Shimano introduced its new mechanical Deore and XT groupsets, bringing much of the technology found in its latest wireless Di2 systems to more affordable, cable-actuated drivetrains. I’ve been riding the new Deore group extensively over the last several months, putting it through demanding conditions, including a week on the Colorado Trail, plenty of singletrack, and some very wet, muddy riding.
