Tate McRae is merging from the fast lane to something a little more domestic. The pop star announced via social media that her new single, “Housewife,” will arrive on Oct. 15. The announcement includes the single’s artwork, which features McRae in a striking red bikini next to a stroller full of cash. The post was simply captioned: “Housewife. Out 10.15,” followed by a diamond ring emoji. “Housewife” will be McRae’s first official release for this new era that she’s been quietly teasing for months. And while she hasn’t quite given fans the full picture yet, there were plenty of clues dropped ahead of this announcement. In August, she closed out her Lollapalooza headlining set in Chicago by taking a literal dip in gold. During “Sports Car,” McRae climbed into a bathtub filled with shimmering gold paint before emerging covered dripping in the metallic hue as fireworks went off over the festival. The dramatic finale quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the weekend — and, possibly, another hint that McRae was ready to move into a new era. The performance also fit into a larger visual world McRae has been developing around transformation and pop-star mythology.

Israeli settlers have attacked European diplomats, including a French mayor, near the Palestinian village of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank. The delegation was visiting Palestinian olive harvesters on Saturday when the Israeli attackers confronted the group. The attack comes a day after settlers assaulted a US journalist north of Ramallah. In Saturday’s incident, the settlers targeted Belgium’s consul general, French and Polish diplomats and Catholic representatives, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said. “A French mayor was assaulted and a Belgian vehicle damaged,” Prevot said, linking the attack to what he called Israel’s “illegal settlement policy” and pledging to push for further European Union sanctions. French mayor Bernard Baudoux, who was assaulted, told the AFP news agency that the violence suggests that “there is a tolerance on the part of the Israeli government” towards settler violence. Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah, said the settlers surrounded the diplomats’ vehicles, pelted them with stones and smashed their windows.
