At least 5 killed in Houthi attack on Yemen’s presidential palace in Aden - Al Jazeera

Saudi-led coalition accuses Houthis of obtaining missile parts from regional states. At least five people have been killed in the vicinity of the al-Maashiq presidential palace in Yemen’s port city of Aden after Houthi missile strikes. Yemeni health minister says five people were killed and 16 others injured in the Houthi missile attack that targeted the al-Maashiq Presidential Palace in Yemen’s Aden on Thursday. The Yemeni Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said in a social media post on Thursday that Houthis had targeted the al-Maashiq presidential palace with five missiles. The government says the prime minister and other officials are safe, but two of his bodyguards were killed in the attack. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the vicinity of the palace. Al Jazeera correspondents reported earlier on Thursday that there were explosions near the palace. The palace is considered the headquarters and the seat of power for the Saudi-backed, internationally recognised government.

Israeli settlers attack European diplomats during West Bank olive harvest - Al Jazeera

Israeli settlers have attacked European diplomats, including a French mayor, near the Palestinian village of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank. The delegation was visiting Palestinian olive harvesters on Saturday when the Israeli attackers confronted the group. The attack comes a day after settlers assaulted a US journalist north of Ramallah. In Saturday’s incident, the settlers targeted Belgium’s consul general, French and Polish diplomats and Catholic representatives, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said. “A French mayor was assaulted and a Belgian vehicle damaged,” Prevot said, linking the attack to what he called Israel’s “illegal settlement policy” and pledging to push for further European Union sanctions. French mayor Bernard Baudoux, who was assaulted, told the AFP news agency that the violence suggests that “there is a tolerance on the part of the Israeli government” towards settler violence. Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah, said the settlers surrounded the diplomats’ vehicles, pelted them with stones and smashed their windows.
