“Primetime:” The Tragedy of Ethics vs. Entertainment - N.C. State University Technician Online

The latest A24 film,“Primetime,” has received high praise, starring Robert Pattinson as famous NBC journalist Chris Hansen. “Primetime” follows Chris Hansen’s life based on true events during his filming career doing live sting-operations for his docu-series “To Catch a Predator.” debuting on Dateline NBC, Hansen would set up sting-operations with law enforcement and television crews to catch alleged child predators. In the original series in 2004, Hansen worked as a journalist to put evil men behind bars. To do this, he worked with NBC to lure alleged predators to houses, where decoy actors would act as children, and as the men get comfortable in the home, Hansen walks out, where he questions the alleged predators. This led to some of Hansen’s iconic lines like, “Do you see how this looks?”
